Staying at this charming ryokan was one of our best experiences. The owner was incredibly gracious, personally driving my friend to and from the bus stop after she injured her knee from a hard fall on ice in Takayama the day before. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent, and the views from our room were absolutely stunning. We finally got to enjoy a private onsen experience, which was wonderful, and the open-air onsens were also fantastic. The owner/host went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and ensure we had a great stay. We absolutely loved this ryokan!

Nice location near the bus station. With onsen indoor and outdoor but not big. Nice host and very helpful.

Service staff was friendly. Food was great, with a lot of locally sourced ingredients. There is a private outdoor onsen as well as separate onsens (outdoor and indoor). Overall a very nice experience!

We tried to book this lesser known hotel in the area and guess what, we were glad we did got the opportunity to stay in this lovely hotel. The staff was kind and sincere even though they tried their best to speak converse with us in english. The room we stayed in was those like ryokan kind with a toilet in it. Shower area are shared among other guests which is linked to a shared indoor and outdoor onsen areas as well. They have a private onsen as well which you do not need to book, just need to lock the door outside to inform people that you're using it.
The best part of this experience is that we opted for dinner and breakfast and we were just blown away especially the dinner course menu. They provided like 10 different type of dishes for you to taste which includes the iconic hida beef as well!
Everything for one night is so affordable around SGD $200+ which is definitely worth it!

The hotel is very good~~ The room is very comfortable and the food is delicious~~~ Although the hotel is not big, it has both public and private hot springs. The public hot springs are also indoors and outdoors~~~ Private hot springs do not require reservations. You can go when there is no one. It is really enjoyable to soak in the hot springs when it snows🌨. It is about a five-minute walk from Hirayu Onsen Station
