The hotel is located in nature in the mountains, it’s easy to find. This hotel is specialized in guests with dogs. Everything is focused on dogs. It’s quite an authentic, old hotel. All rooms have balconies with the view and sound of the small river and a lot of trees. In some areas it may smell a bit like dogs, but if you love pets, you wouldnt mind. The room was spacious, but don’t expect things like USB ports. The staff was very kind and they have a small conveniencestore in the hotel, which was quite useful since the closest store might be a 25 min drive. If I could bring my dog here from the Netherlands I would!

This is a pet friendly hotel 🐶 You can bring your dog or cat to stay. There is a private outdoor onsen pool or you can bring your pet to soak in the onsen. There are many types of rooms to choose from, such as a stone pool or a hinoki wood pool. The staff were very helpful even though they couldn't communicate in English. Dinner is a dinner course served in sequence. Breakfast has a variety of Japanese buffet styles such as curry rice, miso soup, osakazuke, soba, or American dishes like bacon and sausage. The view from the dining room is very good, it's a 360-degree glass. When I went there it was snowing, I sat and had breakfast while watching the snow view and there was a small waterfall next to the hotel. The hotel is about half an hour from Takayama. If you drive, you can drive up the mountain and along the hill. At night, there are no street lights, it is quite dark, there are few cars, but it's not scary. Near the hotel, there is a coffee shop. Go down a bit and you'll find a souvenir shop.

It's a comfortable environment where only dog lovers gather, and we are very satisfied with the attentive staff.
It's a little disappointing that the bath is in a separate building and you have to go outside to get there! There was more snow than we expected, so we couldn't go for a walk, and we'd definitely like to visit in the summer next time!

This was my second time at Wanwan Paradise, after Toba and Takayama. It was better than Toba, but the smell was still bothersome.
The bath was great! I was able to relax in the private room, open-air bath, and hot spring. It was cool and I was able to take a walk in the morning feeling refreshed.
