Excellent stay. It was our first time using an Onsen and we had a good time using the baths after a long day. The room is clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and kind and gave us a ride to the station after we checked out. The location is close to the main sites. Would highly recommended this hotel.

Everything was quiet. The staff were kind and, between our broken Japanese and their broken English, we could communicate.
Our room was nicer than expected. It was our first ryokan. Everything seemed old but well cared for, and it gave the place a comforting character.

A warm, gentle, and homely ryokan that made my solo journey feel gentle and special. The atmosphere was cozy and peaceful—ideal for resting after days of exploring. The utilities were old-school, which added a unique charm and authenticity to the space. The staff were genuinely kind and accommodating. A nice experience ☺️ If you stay here I recommend to hire a bike so you can easily travel around Takayama!

The food was wonderful and we felt like the staff tried and were kind. The building is really really run down. The floor in front of the elevator feels like it might fall thru. The location is out of town and a hike in. Pillows were rice husk filled (?) and smelled like dust. The bathroom floor drain was just gross and there was no way we were going to try the onsen. Literally one outlet in the room.

Beautiful experience, obviously touristy but still unmissable in Japan to immerse yourself in the local culture. Comfortable room, nice to wear the kimono for dinner. Excellent Japanese breakfast and dinner, very kind staff. Also nice onsen, even if very hot.

Visiting Takayama, we booked a night at the Ryokan. What a slap!! We were very well received by this very, very kind family, they made a huge effort to satisfy us greatly. The room was perfect. The grandiose traditional breakfast, The friendly and attentive staff. Flawless! Good location of the hotel in the city, 10 minutes from the city center where in the evening the son took us to the restaurant by shuttle. I recommend this charming place or I would return without problem.
