When I arrived at the scenery hall while looking at the famous inn that gave up from Obushi to Yamada Onsen by free transfer bus for budget convenience, I felt honestly dark. I felt like I was older and inferior to other inns. I was guided to the room and immediately said rude things like ”let's make another inn next time” with my friend. However, when I took the bus again for one night, I changed to ”I want to come again soon! I don't want to stay at the landscape museum”. First of all, when I said that my leg was bad at the time of booking, I was able to set a table and chair in the room with a bed and the room in front of it to eat, but thanks to the consideration, there was no inconvenience We had a comfortable stay. The hot water was good and the facilities were clean even if they were old. The food was delicious and the number of items was about this, so I left it. The breakfast was also substantial and I was surprised. Curry in the morning is perfect for the morning. The small counter, which was stuck by the window of the room, became a bar counter for us who were drinking, and we had a fantastic night watching the snowstorm valley. But what was better than anything was the hospitality of the inn 々 including the mother. It is rare in a luxury inn to receive the sincere hospitality that has been so thorough. The next inn was decided to be kofushi, so I tried to come back on the next day, but it was a pity that it was not possible to realize it on the closing day. Ofushi was fun, but I think I will stay at the scenery hall and go to Ofushi next time.

This is basically the commodization of hotels at its finest. We had four of us staying in a hotel room meant for two at a reasonable price because we were only there for two nights. Some people might complain about the squishiness or the room missing some home comforts but it truly fitted purpose fine - you get what you pay for. As noted, the hotel is incredibly convenient to the train station. Computerized check-in system, but the staff walked me through it by hand. They'd forgotten to set up the sofa bed in the first room they gave us, but when we bridged the language gap (I was asking for sheets for the sofa bed I'd then set up, which was the wrong question) they moved us into the same room with the bed already set up with sheets. They were very pleasant to deal with. When looking for somewhere to stay without breaking the bank in Nagano, I would happily stay here again.

On such a hot day, there is no air-conditioning on the 4th floor. I vaguely feel that there is discrimination in the room booked through Ctrip. The next day we negotiated to change to the 6th floor.

I booked a night in Yudanaka with my partner so that we could visit the Snow Monkey Park. Most places were already booked up, so we went for Yorozuya (sometimes romanised as Yoroduya) even though it was a little beyond our budget. At £300 a night for a double room with dinner and breakfast, I thought “this had better be good…” Honestly, it was probably worth double that. The ryokan itself is massive; the atrium has a scale that almost defies sense. We were greeted by staff who were awaiting our arrival, and took our luggage up to our room while we enjoyed a complementary matcha tea. A guide led us up the stairs, handed us XL yukata to wear during our stay and explained the situation with towels. She took us in the lift to our room, and showed us how to access the onsens and where the dining halls would be. We took a few moments to settle into our tatami-floored room, change into our yukata, and investigate the albeit pretty boring view from our balcony. For the record: the joy here is _inside_ the ryokan rather than outside. We tested both the on-site onsen; they operate on schedules so that male guests and female guests bathe separately, but can both enjoy both of the baths. It is worth trying both. It’s a cliché to say, but particularly coming from Europe without much experience of this kind of venue, they made me feel like I was in Spirited Away, if Spirited Away was a series of Hokusai prints. I loved relaxing in the heat of the outdoor bath surrounded by rocks, trees and classically Japanese sculptures, with snow gently falling. Suitably relaxed, it was time for dinner. This was worth the whole booking price alone. We were served a 10-course kaiseki dinner, in a private booth, with attentive staff bringing us fresh water and sake whenever we desired. Every single bite was exquisite. While not 10 courses, this extended into breakfast which was a similar luxurious experience. I was sad we only had one night there, and would go back in a heartbeat. The experience of staying here creates a stronger draw for me to return to Yudanaka than the snow monkeys. We were treated so well, and truly unwound in a setting that felt almost too good to be real.

The public bath is not very big, but it was very clean and nice. The room is still new and very clean, so I think it was good to use it. Also, even though I was late for check-in, I felt comfortable with a very good response.
There were many kinds of breakfast, and it was so big that I could not eat all kinds. In addition, we thought that we wanted to use if there was opportunity.

We stayed for 2 nights on a cheap tour around the cherry blossoms in Shinshu, which is a round trip of ”Azusa” from Tokyo to Chino, sightseeing in Matsumoto and Ueda by bus, and going to Takato on the next 々 day. The total amount is 34,000 yen, so I think the cost to divide it into the hotel is limited. So I didn't expect the hotel. Even if it is called Yutanaka Onsen, it is located on Honami Onsen on the opposite bank of the Segawa River at night. Yutanaka Onsen is also lonely, but this side is lonely. I think I'm doing my best while there are ruined hotels and inns around, but the facilities are quite tired. I think the degree of tiredness in the guest rooms is especially advanced. It is a consecutive night for 2 nights, but cleaning and lifting and lowering the futon are omitted. Yukata and bath towels were prepared for 2 nights. In such a case, dinner is a room meal, so the table is placed beside it, and the lighting is not hit, so it gives a dark impression. Room meals are also a point in the tour guide, but it is not a point as a service, but one of the halls is the breakfast venue and the other is the banquet hall, so you have to eat in the room. The reality is that I think so. When I stayed, another group was having a banquet and the sound of karaoke was noisy. It is not recommended for those with bad legs as you go down the stairs once from the front desk and take the elevator. Room meals are a set of kaiseki, but there are two dishes to warm with a stove, but otherwise they are cold. I think it would be good if we could reheat it in the same way. We put it on the side of the stove dish and reheated it. I think it would be convenient to have solid fuel, aluminum foil and lighter. The room has a guide to recommended additional dishes, but if you order, you should make it early the day before. There are few staff at the restaurant at breakfast, and milk and dishes are cut off immediately in the juice, but replenishment is slow. When I asked the staff because the coffee was out, I heard a voice from the corridor saying ”Ko ― Hee Coffee is noisy!” The person came back, so when I liked it, I turned my butt to this side without stopping the cleaning hand and said, ”I'm sorry.” I went to the front desk and reported it and I read it immediately and apologized. However, I know that I am not a thankful person, so I asked him not to meet at the restaurant the next morning. The next morning I was surprised to see a lot of young staff. The only hot spring is fed directly from the source, and the hot water flows so much that it is a waste. It was nice to collect a little. There is no sauna, but the open-air bath was also good. It was a bit disappointing stay, but there is no bad impression except for breakfast.

We stayed here for a couple of nights and it was a really clean and comfortable hotel and just a 7 minute walk from Nagano Station, a 7 minute walk to bus stop 23 for the Snow Monkey Park and close to a variety of restaurants and bars. It is also 15/20 minutes to Zenko-Ji which is a beautiful Buddhist temple and well worth visiting. We didn’t have breakfast included during our stay but other guests said that it was really good. Our room was really clean, spacious and comfortable with a firm mattress, a tv, toiletries and a kettle. In reception you can help yourself to teas, coffee and other toiletries for free which was helpful. The staff were really friendly and patient as we don’t speak Japanese. Our room was next to the railway line but the sound proofing was excellent and it was so quiet and we had two good nights of sleep. A comfortable and clean hotel that is conveniently located for exploring Negano.
