We, a party of 8, visited 台山, our ancestral home, over the weekend. We booked 5 rooms at 丽怡, mostly because it is new and conveniently located in the town center. Overall, we had a pleasant stay at the hotel. Hotel staff were courteous. Rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. I would have given a higher rating if not for the following reasons: 1) We weren't able to get a non-smoking room per our preference. The hotel only has one floor dedicated as non-smoking. The hotel did some odor removal treatment and opened the windows before we checked in but I would still prefer to stay in a non-smoking room. 2) There is a low humming noise throughout the night till around 5:30 am. Not enough to wake you if you are tired and sound asleep but it will be difficult to sleep again once you woke up during the night. All 5 rooms can hear the humming noise. Don't know if it is because there is a steel fabrication shop next to the hotel or due to hotel's own aircon compressor.

There is also a delicious Leyun restaurant nearby. The environment of the hotel is okay, but you don't need to swipe a card to get on the elevator, and the safety factor is compromised. The bathroom is relatively small, the shower room is narrow, and the shower head is a bit broken. And they actually asked for a deposit of 200. I haven’t paid a deposit for a hotel stay in a long time. I was shocked.

The hotel is more than 10 minutes' drive from Yihe. The front desk lady was very polite and helped me upgrade the room. The hotel has a buffet, but there were too many people when I went there, and I had to wait for the food, so I didn't go there. I ate at the restaurant next door, and the taste was okay.

I was pleasantly surprised when I came to this homestay. The room is spacious and bright, the bed is comfortable and soft.
