Hotels in Shilin Night Market, Taipei

The hotel is located about 1.5km from Jiantan Station, which makes it inconvenient to walk with luggage. It’s best to take an Uber or taxi to the hotel. The room is very luxurious and spacious, with a reasonable price for the area. However, cleanliness did not meet my expectations, as I noticed quite a lot of hair. I believe the room should be vacuumed daily, as it’s normal for people to shed. There was a disturbing white noise throughout the night, possibly from the piping or noise from the room above. It affected my sleep and was quite a setback, as nights should be quiet and the room should ideally be soundproof. Overall rating: 7.5/10.

I recently stayed at The Grand Hotel Taipei and overall had a lovely experience. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning — the iconic architecture, beautiful interior design, and rich history truly make it a one-of-a-kind place. My room was clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated, and the view was just as grand as the hotel’s name promises. However, I did encounter a bit of disappointment regarding a birthday request. I had reached out in advance asking if there might be a small complimentary gesture for my birthday. Unfortunately, since my check-out was one day before my actual birthday, the hotel declined. The response I received via email was quite cold and simply said “no,” with no alternative or warm message, which felt a bit impersonal — especially since staying at this hotel had been a dream of mine for a long time. Despite that, I still enjoyed my stay and would recommend the hotel for its unique ambiance and elegant surroundings. I just wish the service had been a bit more accommodating or thoughtful, especially for special occasions.

room size was good. unfortunately my ear bud was lost during the stay and it was not found in the room. had call the reception and they did not find it in the room.

We got a free parking spot in the garage at arrival. The room was very well equipped with several TVs and many electronic devices. Breakfast was served a la carte and as a buffet. We would definitely come back!

I got in very late and they were so easy and helpful at the desk, same for when I checked out the next morning. They even took my bags and held onto them while I explored the city, recommending places nearby to eat and enjoy, and then gave me a chance to use the gym to change afterward before calling me a taxi to the airport. Just exceptionally helpful.

The quad room was tiny. The beds were pushed tight against the walls on both sides, leaving only a narrow walkway in the middle, and there was only one chair available in the entire room. The hallway outside the room was also very narrow, almost like a makeshift, partitioned passageway. The room was clean, and the window directly faced the Grand Hotel. There's a YouBike station right outside the main entrance, which is incredibly convenient! Parking costs 40 NTD per hour, and charges begin from 12 PM on your check-out day.

As long as you don't get lost at the wrong exit, you can get there without getting lost. I'm directionally challenged, so I was very grateful. Shilin Night Market was farther away than I expected. I thought it would be difficult to eat while walking around, so I wanted to take food back to my room, but the room felt smaller than I expected, so I ended up eating facing the wall. I thought it would be very difficult to use the toilet and shower in the room I used unless I was traveling alone. I was surprised at how big and heavy the bath towels were.

We spent a comfortable 5 nights in this hotel. Rooms are a nice size, warmly furnished and comfortable double bed! Bathroom is spacious with separate bathtub and shower. No meal options but many food places or convenience stores very near. A nice thing was the water dispenser and a coffee machine for guests downstairs.

The room is beautiful, clean and tidy, the toilet space is large, the overall room space is quite large, and the sound insulation is also very good! The toilet has heating, which is very good and the shower gel and shampoo are very good and taste great! And you can reserve a parking space by phone, the parking lot is not small, very convenient! The service staff is also very kind and friendly. It is very close to Shilin MRT Station. There are a lot of food nearby!

The bed itself was quite clean but the sheets were stained. The floors were tainted with some mysterious paint and the walls were scratched. Although unpleasant to look at, they were of no detriment to the overall hygiene. The hairdryer provided was okay, although it sometimes powers off itself. The wifi would occasionally stop working, which was quite annoying. It would last some where between 5-10 minutes, up to twice a day. The location is quite nice as it is located very near the Shilin Night Market. A quick 2 minute walk will lead you straight to the night market. The online customer support team responded very quickly to my inquiries, but seeing as there is no reception there, it may be rather troublesome during emergencies. The staff also likely does not speak English, so it will be best if you know spoken Mandarin or at least know how to read and write Chinese.
