Hotels in Zhongxiao Dunhua Commercial Area, Taipei

The hotel perfectly blends elegance with convenience. Its location is a huge plus, being right outside Exit 3 of Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station. The restaurant on the ground floor is open almost all day and offers delightful cuisine. A major highlight is the exclusive cafe on the second floor, reserved for hotel guests, where complimentary coffee, tea, and mineral water are available, alongside a collection of travel books. This greatly enhanced our family trip.

I picked this Howard Plaza after weighing its location, transportation convenience, and my own travel plans. Overall, it was okay. The front desk service was excellent. However, both the room size and the bed were a bit small. Breakfast was pretty average and didn't quite live up to my expectations. Lastly, it felt like some people in the gym weren't hotel guests, making me wonder if it's also open to the public.

The hotel was at a great location, just 1 min walk to the nearest metro station exit (with escalatior). There's a weekend market nearby which features some interesting stuff. The famous breakfast shop Fu Hang Soy Milk 阜杭豆漿 is just a 10mins walk We arrived late at midnight, notified the hotel in advance and glad to know that the front desk is 24/7. Check-in was smooth and received ice-cream voucher for joining its membership programme. The room was a double room, not too big, but enough for two people with two big suitcases. Bathroom was separated from the toilet, which was decent. One thing worth noting is that they don't provide one-time toiletries. You can bring your own or spend TWD200 for one set, which was exactly what we did.

Don't expect too much the room with 'window' as it's blocked by a building that you basically can't tell the weather or day and night outside the room. The shower is very weird and installed low as your knee. Found lots of hair in the bathroom which belonged to the previous vistors

The room was spacious and very clean, with modern decor. Each room comes equipped with a CD player, and guests can select their favorite CDs from the hotel lobby. The service was also excellent. The hotel bar offers a daily happy hour with complimentary drinks for several hours! Plus, the nearest subway station is only about a 10-minute walk away, which is incredibly convenient! Highly recommended!

Hotel room is really big, more than enough space to open your suitcases and lay them down. Beds are comfy and clean. Just take note that this hotel does not provide toothbrushes and some other amenities, so do remember to bring your own. Shopping wise, the area is good for shopping with a shopping mall next door and H&M and Zara nearby as well. The hotel is pretty well located and convenient for getting around Taipei and close to popular night market options like Raohe night market and the known hiking spots - Elephant Mountain etc. Within walking distance, there are attractions like the Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall, Songshan creative park and Taipei Dome if you’re keen on exploring. Food is easy around here with a variety of options along the alleyways ranging from European, Japanese and of course ********* cuisine and even some vegan options popping up around as well. Just feel free to walk around and explore the options but be mindful that a lot of places would stop taking orders around 8.30pm. Also, if you’re looking for a super late night supper spot, there is sushi express opened until 5.30am nearby.

This is my second time back at the hotel and I can 100% confirm this is one of the best value for money hotel with everything I love! From great buffet breakfast, amazing staffs and service to their clean rooms, sauna, steam room and hot spring! There are even snacks and cold drinks in the rooms that are for free! I know that this will be my number choice with regards to a well-rounded hotel to stay in whenever I visit Taipei!

The location is very convenient which is just a min away from the MRT exit. The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly. The cleaniess inside the room is fair. Overall the experience was pleasure.

My family had a great experience staying at Hua Shan Din for 5 nights. There is alot to praise, like the excellent location, literally 2 mins walk to the Zhongxiao Xinsheng MRT station, Family Mart and 7/11 next door, good variety & vegetarian - friendly for the breakfast buffet, efficient housekeeping service and cute decor. The rooms were also well appointed and clean. If there is anything to critique, it would be the not so great shower drainage system -- the water flow is very slow - abt 3 mins plus to drain after a shower. It's not great to have to stand in soapy bath water to wait for the water to drain. It's a design problem, and it's unavoidable as we shower twice everyday. it could also be because of a structural constraint, but is worth effort from the hotel to look into this, as it would otherwise impact the whole experience, which is already great.

It was a pleasant and prompt check-in, with water and snacks available for guests in the reception area (free). The single room was fairly clean, but under the bed had excess dust. There was a slight smell coming from the bathroom, after inspecting the toilet that appeared clean I could see that the rim was full of dirt, which I resolved with a bottle of toilet bleach. There is also a loud noise that sounds like it’s coming from the piping, every time the water is used from the sink, shower, or toilet. The hostel is in a central location with shops, restaurants, and transport links all within easy walking distance. Good if you’re looking for something cheap and cheerful.
