Grand Pleasure Spring Hotel

Although the hotel is located farther from the station and relatively older amenities, the price is affordable and the room space is large enough for a night to stay in a hot spring to eliminate fatigue and indeed great!

Pros: 1. Affordable. If you're looking for a place to stay overnight and enjoy a hot spring, this is a great choice. The bathroom and hot tub are large. 2. It's within walking distance of Beitou's attractions, such as the Geothermal Valley, the Hot Spring Museum, and the Beitou Library. 3. There's a free coffee machine and cookies on the first floor. Cons: 1. The walk from Xinbeitou MRT Station to the hotel is a gentle uphill climb, about 13 minutes, and incredibly hot in the summer. 2. This room type has no windows and is sold as a room in a hot spring house on an hourly basis, making it relatively stuffy. 3. The bathroom floor was visibly dusty and poorly cleaned. The door lock was loose and looked like it was about to fall off. The bed and toilet were almost touching, making entering the bathroom a bit of a hassle. 4. The shampoo and shower gel were in the same tub, not separate, making my hair very stiff after washing. 5. The soundproofing is really poor. My room's door is a bit warped, requiring a lot of force to close. It also feels like doors in other rooms need to be shut hard, which can be frightening. If someone in the hallway talks, closes a door, or cleans up in the morning, you can hear everything clearly. 6. The TV is placed in an odd position (facing the bathroom tub). You have to lean to one side to watch TV while sitting in bed. The remote control is also very unresponsive, requiring you to adjust the channel at a certain angle.

The signal was very weak, but luckily there was WiFi. The soundproofing was terrible! Luckily, there weren't many people around that day, but I did hear some strange noises around 4 AM, which was quite embarrassing. ☺️

1. Aging facilities (keys used, bathroom door not closing, shower leaks) 2. Slow internet, unavailable, or disconnected 3. Uncleanliness (ceiling mold, bathtub debris, etc.) 4. Location (both buses and subways are a long, steep climb)

Excellent value for money, with excellent cleanliness, space, and hot spring quality. Highly recommended! Although it's a bit far from public transportation (Xinbeitou MRT Station), it's not a big deal if the weather is good.

The environment was very clean, and there was a bathtub for a nice soak. ♨️ The staff were also very nice. 😊 I'd definitely stay here again if I'm back in northern Taiwan. 😊
