OKU Hotel Taichung

I checked in last night. The decor is very modern, the environment is clean and tidy, and the room is large with a bathtub, a large mirror, and a separate bathroom, but the drainage is a bit slow, which can cause a little water accumulation, but it doesn't affect the use. The bed is comfortable and I slept well. The card access system is quite cute. The breakfast is delicious, with local soups. The service staff is very friendly and attentive (they are very attentive to guests' needs, which is great). Although you have to walk a short distance to the multi-story parking lot 🅿️ (there are free and paid parking options), it's worth considering for guests who don't want to walk a short distance with their luggage. Everything else is good 👍 and the price is okay ☺️.

Honestly, I was quite excited after seeing the good reviews. I chose a room that accommodated children. The hotel seemed quite chic and new, seemingly having just opened for soft opening in July. The worst part happened when it came to sleeping. Two 1.1-meter beds, with a side rail, were so frustrating that sleeping on one with a child meant I had to stay awake all night. It was excruciating. I could easily fall out of bed if I turned over. I don't understand. The room is quite large, so why can't they remove the fancy decor and make the bed bigger? You go to a hotel to sleep, not to visit a museum. I'm confused. Also, the bed quality was extremely poor. It made a creaking noise every time I turned over, even a 5-year-old would. I was about to complain in the middle of the night. Also, there were only two pillows. A normal hotel should have at least four. Two pairs—isn't that the standard?! Why did this hotel skimp on the features? Anyway? I slept terribly. I woke up aching all over. I've never had such a poor hotel experience. Let's talk about breakfast. It's a set menu with European and Chinese options. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very formal, but... the taste was pretty average. So, it's more about form than substance. In short, for a hotel of this price, I recommend paying more attention to the details of the guest experience. Things like the bed and pillows are paramount. Don't go for a glamorous exterior with tacky interiors.
