Another large basic hotel in the middle of nowhere. There is no shops, restaurants or houses near the hotel. There is a beautiful view of Atlas mountain range from the front of the hotel. Hotel is used almost exclusively by tour groups. We stayed 1 night during our tour and there were 2 other groups in the hotel at that night. Staff is friendly but not everyone is fluent in English. Rooms are basic. The building and furniture are both mainly made with massive wood. No water tea coffee in the room. No fridge. A basic Dinner and breakfast is also served in the hotel.

Not sure I fully understand the ire of some other reviewers… Yes, this is an older hotel, in a remote area, en route between Fes and Merzouga, Erg Chebi, etc. Yes, it’s definitely cold in the main areas, but that is standard for most establishments this time of year and the rooms are toasty. No, there aren’t hair dryers or free toiletries but I don’t know why someone would go to the Atla Mts expecting those. The staff are universally helpful, the overall vibe is “old grandeur,” there is WiFi, hot water, there’s a working bar and espresso machine, and impeccable views of the mountains.

Positives: Staff were all extremely kind and helpful. Breakfast and Dinner was very good. Nice balcony on every room. Negatives: Not actually in Midelt, Absolutely nothing around this hotel. Beds were very hard and the pillows were even worse. Most of the electrical outlets in the room and bathroom did not work. In North America it would be a 2* Overpriced if dinner wasn’t included.

We came on a group travel and reserved this hotel on our way. Pics and list of commodities are very old. No fitness gym no bed on the pool, the restaurant menu is not updated for years so what there they don’t have. The air conditioning is very weak in the rooms…. Well all needs a huge restoration No advised to stay.

We stopped her for lunch, looks a very popular stop for tourist groups. The foyer is impressive with the large amethyst geodes, but that where it stops. We asked for vegetable soup which came tepid and like water, not impressed, the bread was not good either. Maybe they were just having a bad day. We didn't get anything else.

Looks like it used to be a fancy hotel but has gone into neglect. Like a lodge, somewhat rustic yet interesting. Countertops made of stone slabs with huge 3D fossils. Large outdoor patio with pool seemed much abandoned. Huge dining room . Not too clean but OK. Floor in the room was caked on with mud, but it kind of went with the whole theme there.

This may be your only option between the desert and your next stop so lower your expectations. We are at the end of the busy season and are the ONLY ones here in the hotel if that tells you anything. The beds are hard, the pillows are harder. No hair dryer, no complimentary toiletries, no bath rug, no phone to call the front desk to ask for these items, bulbs burned out in the room, dirty pool, no one to help with bags. When you visit at the tail end of the season and there are no tour buses lodging here, you get bare bones. The food was average. Pluses: the TV actually works and the Moroccan Salad was tasty. We can’t wait to leave.

I was hopeful because people at the desk were friendly when we checked in. Then, we walked to our room. The floor of the corridor appeared to be unfinished. It was covered with cheap looking carpets. Our room had no refrigerator or safe deposit box which was alright for me. However, there wasn’t a single hanger. There was no hair dryer. In the bathroom there were no towel bars, no hooks, no toilet paper holder. The bathtub was so tall that I got in and out of it each time with trepidation. There was no grab bar. The shower curtain looked tired. When we ate, there was no heating in the dining room. Instead, they lit fires in their huge fireplaces. The tables were all placed together as though to seat big groups of people. There were very few guests so I wondered why the tables were arranged that way. Breakfast was a boiled egg, a couple of cold cuts, yogurt and a slice of processed cheese. It didn’t look appetising. And our dinner the previous night was horrible. We took one bite of the flan and left it. This is in the middle of the desert. Perhaps there are not many choices of hotels here. We stayed here as part of a packaged tour. My mother used to describe dark weird houses as looking like the house of Dracula. This would be an apt description of this hotel.

We spent one awful night on the way back from the desert. The room was dirty and cold and hotel service unprofessional and friendly. The food was well below average. Find something else to sleep over.
