Iapetos Village

This is a nice hotel, in a very good location, just a couple of minutes walk from the harbour. Rooms are a little dated, but acceptable, and very clean. Air con works well and in our room (Double) it had a 'night' mode which was very quiet. Breakfast is ok, but does get very repetitive if you are there for more than a few days, as nothing changes. The only reason it drops a star is because on the last morning, we were told to Not feed the cats that wander the grounds, as it makes a mess. Now I appreciate that a lot of Greeks (and other nationalities come to that) see cats as pests. But we are animal lovers. And so when the (few) strays come up looking for food whilst you are eating breakfast, of course you are going to want to feed them. We spotted water and food bowls near some other hotels and apartments. But nothing here. So that put a bit of a downer on the place.

Excellent place! Centrally located with large spacious, clean rooms and a beautiful courtyard. A nice pool that is undercover and fabulous breakfast with so much variety! The staff are so warm and friendly and the town is 2 min walk away. They offered free transport for the port as my in laws struggle with mobility which was very kind. Highly recommend!

Wow! This place is like paradise, so tranquil and peaceful. All around stay fantastic, staff (especially Maria) extremely helpful and knowledgeable, food very good. Only 5 minute walk to the harbour, would definitely recommend tyring the new Indian restaurant nearby Taj Mahal amazing. Would defintely return if vesting the island again.

I wouldn't normally review a place while still there but honestly I'm just blown away by this place. Stunning accommodation, tastefully decorated in keeping with the beauty of Symi Island. Staff have been very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was ample catering to different tastes. Would definitely return. I would love to see a way for those if us who are animal lovers to help the local cats. I know there are organisations locally who do this and it would be nice if guests who want to could easily support them.

From the moment we arrived at Iapetos Village in Symi, we knew we were in for a unique experience. Nestled in the heart of the charming old town, this hidden gem encapsulates everything there is to love about the idyllic Greek islands What sets Iapetos Village apart is its blend of tradition and comfort. The architecture retains the classic charm of Symi, with picturesque whitewashed structures, vibrant blue, yellow sharp accents, and cobbled pathways that lead to quaint, well-appointed rooms. Every corner of the village exudes an air of tranquillity and understated elegance. The jungle of plants in the Main area sourrunding the pool area. The village's location is another major plus. It offers easy access to Symi's main attractions while providing a peaceful retreat from the day's activities. After exploring the vibrant local life and culture, it was a delight to return to our serene haven at Iapetos Village.

Recently returned from very enjoyable 2 week stay at Iapetos in which we explored the beautiful island of Symi which I last visited in 1980.The hotel is very well sited , a short flat stroll to the central harbour with its tavernas and bars.We stayed in a two storey maisonette which has stairs which are a little daunting at first, and not for the less mobile.! The accommodation was large ,comfortable, well furnished, well equipped, and immaculately cleaned and presented.The small balconies generally look out over the gardens and accommodation. The air conditioning worked extremely well and was gratefully used to get a good nights sleep.Gardens immaculately kept as is the covered small swimming pool, which, probably due to the cover and its siting, is rarely used by guests.There is little room to sunbathe which was disappointing.I ventured in a couple of times for a dip in two weeks but found the sea more attractive and warmer.As others have stated breakfast is more than adequate if a little uninspiring and taken by us in the garden.Staff without exception very efficient, friendly,and willing to help.All in all a great couple of weeks and will be high on our list should we return in the future.
