Beautifully decorated old house with lush grounds, lovely rooms, tempting pool and really incredible dining experience. Wished we were staying longer - there is plenty to do nearby. Staff were incredibly friendly and even washed our car during breakfast.

We had a short stay of 2 days at schoone ordt counrty house in Swellendam . It‘s a very beautiful Place, lot of Vintage Charme. Breakfast and Dinner was top notch, just delicious. The furniture and the style is just awesome. I‘d love to come back again.

Picture perfect accommodation in stunning gardens.The attention to detail is obvious from the rooms to the stupendous food.All the staff were very friendly and could not have been more helpful.We stayed on two separate nights one of which was nearly my wife's birthday.We were put in the honeymoon suite and served a gorgeous cake.The owner arranged for us to visit the local township which is strongly recommended.Amazing experience.If I could give 10 out of 5 I would.Thank you.

A relaxing stay in a historical home that's full of old world charm. Alison and team are so welcoming and helpful and it felt as if our every need was attended to with warmth and friendliness. The rooms are cosy and well-appointed, the food (breakfast and the hotel's superb dinner offering) was sublime and the scenery – even in midwinter – was so beautiful. We felt as if our two-day stay lingered in the most pleasurable manner – truly a recharge for mind, body and appetite!

We stayed at Schoone Oordt on the last night of a short road trip through the Western Cape. This beautiful country house is such a treat - with spacious, charmingly furnished rooms overlooking the large gardens with fountains, Khoi pond, and large pool with loungers. It's within easy walking distance of Swellendam's Historic Mile, has a cosy little bar and fabulous conservatory restaurant. I loved it. Will definitely go back, and stay longer next time!

Alison and her staff are incredibly welcoming, friendly, attentive, and professional. The property and rooms are warm, comfortable, and beautifully decorated with antiques. Everything was spottles and of high quality. Not only a nice destination for summer days – it is as well perfect for a cozy winter retreat -the fireplaces are lid! The food was delicious, freshly prepared, and served with care - every meal was a treat! Highly recommended.

We loved our stay at Schoone Oordt, from the beauty of the place, the gorgeous and most delicious food to the warm welcome of Richard, Allison and their team, everything was perfect. The family suite is stunning and very comfortable, the house itself is so special with its beautiful conservatory, cosy bar and sitting room, what a gem! Highly recommended

Excellent service by wonderful attentive small team of staff. The accommodation was wonderful and the service and attention to detail amazing. The rooms and house were beautiful in an historic building. The food was amazing too. I would recommend this place to others.
