Gretenham B&B

Comfortable, clean and quiet. I was met with genuine hospitality and warmth and that continued for the brief 24hrs I stayed. A comfortable king size bed and ensuite bathroom / shower just up the hill from downtown Swanage meant I got a nice walk in along the waterfront before retiring to the quiet comfort of my room. In the morning I was served a delicious breakfast with the best pot of tea I’ve had outside of my own kitchen.

Excellent B&B. We stayed in the spacious front bedroom which was spotlessly clean. The large bathroom had a great shower and lovely thick towels. The king size bed was very comfortable. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate, biscuits and a small chocolate each was in the room on arrival. After a warm welcome by the proprietors we had a cup of coffee sitting at the table and chairs in the bay window and then walked into the town - literally just around the corner. John recommended somewhere to eat in the town that night. Breakfast was served in the bedroom, in the bay window. We will definitely stay there again if we stay there again.

We could only stay one night, chose the King room and it was perfect, spotlessly clean,comfy bed and plenty of fluffy towels. Scrumptious breakfast with plenty of choices, and brought to the room, a real treat! A gem of a place, will be back for certain.

This was a spur of the moment decision to take a midweek break by the Dorset coast, staying at a small B&B called the Gretenham near the centre of Swanage. The owners, John and Lou, were excellent hosts, friendly and helpful. Our room, which was at the front of the building, was a good size, clean and comfortable, with good en-suite facilities. The breakfast was excellent, and is served to a table in your room. Very highly recommended.
