The Ferry House

Myself and my family had a wonderful time tasting the food. Firstly, the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Rhys and Rebecca looked after us and ensured we had enough to drink. The food was all delicious and very well presented. It was hard to choose which food to select because it was all so good!

I loved my stay here in this beautiful and peaceful part of England. The inn is full of character and very cosy. The food in the restaurant was fantastic, sourced locally, and cooked to perfection. The staff were exemplary, helpful, and made me feel so welcome. I can't wait to return!

We had our wedding on the August bank holiday Monday and were very lucky with the weather, which meant we had our ceremony outside in front of the gazebo, with the estuary in view. The day itself was perfect and we cannot fault the venue and staff with their attention to detail. We heard many compliments from our guests about the setting, the food and overall service. The whole process with Ferry House as a wedding venue actually started for us close to a year before the wedding date. We were well informed of what we needed to do, and the timeframes for certain milestones in our planning. They have been very professional, communicative, and helpful every step of the way. Everyone is really friendly with every interaction. Regardless of which member of the team we were speaking with, they all knew what our wedding profile was, even though they host so many weddings, especially in the summer months. The website with all the planning resources such as recommended suppliers was also very organised and supported us. The main hesitation we had before booking the venue was its remote location, which could make it tricky for non-drivers (like ourselves) to travel to, but we concluded that its location is what makes it so special, and suited what we were looking for - to be near the water, near nature, in a relaxed and beautiful setting, and has special food as food means a lot to us. We’re so glad and happy to have picked them as our venue and look forward to coming back and experiencing their lovely food and hospitality again!

Beautiful hotel stay with fantastic dining experience. Also relaxing treatments. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. All staff were friendly and helpful. Food delicious. Rebecca in particular was a star🌟 The venue was also used to host an afternoon tea for a gathering, which was exceptional, in such a beautiful setting. Thanks to Ellie for all the organising. Highly recommend all aspects of The Ferry House.

A little bit different and food lovely. I went there with friends and family yesterday for a birthday lunch. Was lovely to have a round table. We ordered all the little and large plates and the guys ordered a meal each. In hindsight it was too much food but we had a lovely time. I would say the small plates would be a mouthful (some bigger) for 3 people whereas the large plates are a good portion for 4. Started at 12 left at 4 didn't feel rushed at all. Will be returning.

Although 50 years married - we treated ourselves to the 'Valentines' overnight stay offer; with the 9-course 'tasting menu' dinner and full English in the morning! The whole break was just wonderful - meal was spectacular, with very unusual foods to taste, including Wagu beef fore rib! Our water-side room was very comfortable with spectacular views. Also enjoyed a bracing walk around their immaculate kitchen garden, which provides majority of their fruit, veg and herbs. Our restorative afternoon walk to the ancient Harty village church across the marsh, under huge skies and far-reaching views, was so quiet and peaceful - followed by warming hot chocolate in the bar! The Ferry House is a real 'hidden gem' we have frequented for many, many years, offering superb food and quiet, contemplative stays - all cared for by a wonderful, friendly and well-honed team. If we wanted to get married again - this would definitely be the place!!! Thank you for having us.
