the location is amazing and the hostel is just such a stunning style of architecture. unfortunately it was super hard to find as the former entrance is now a suzhou museum gift shop. you gotta go to the left of it into the small alley and turn right into the costume shop. that's where the new entrance is located.
unfortunatelly the bathroom next to my room wasn't cleaned at all for the duration of my stay. it looked like absolute hell with old bandaids, feathers, fake lashes, double eyelid *****s und an exploded toothpaste laying around. the cleaning staff took great care of keeping the floors and rooms clean so i really don't get it....

the location is awesome as it is a very short walk to the pinjiang road where all the main canals are. the key highlight for us is the staff at the hotel, Xiao Zhang and 2 other gentlemen who's name I have now forgotten (sorry!). All three was VERY helpful and accommodating with me and my wife. Our Mandarin was hopeless so they tried their best to speak to us in English. As part of their duties at the front desk, they also prepared breakfast for the guests. Every morning, they were meticulous at their work, efficient and served us promptly when we showed up. They never failed to check-in and asked if everything was ok, always with a big smile and ensuring our needs were met. I have stayed at many high-end hotels and I can confidently say this place is on par for their customer service if not better. One of the gentlemen also assisted me with my luggage during check-in as there is no lift, only stairs so older folks may need to take note. All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay. Thank you for making it a good one for us!

I have always liked the Yihe series of hotels. Although they are sometimes inferior in details, they have a strong sense of locality compared to traditional luxury chains, which is an extremely critical element in some cities. The Yihe Mansion in Nanjing and the Yunxi Jinshidi in Weishan are both excellent in the series, and the Suzhou Songmaoju, which opened at the beginning of the year, also shows the charm of the garden very well.
The hotel has an excellent location on Pingjiang Road, only about 15 minutes walk from the Humble Administrator's Garden and Suzhou Museum. The hotel is a three- or four-courtyard courtyard, which was renovated from an old house three hundred years ago, retaining the original white walls, black tiles and winding corridors.
The hotel service is also very considerate. I added WeChat in advance to inform the arrival matters and helped to collect the express delivery. Xiaoyu at the front desk was very enthusiastic. He helped to upgrade the room if the room status allowed. At the same time, he confirmed the breakfast in advance and arranged for a colleague to lead the way.
The minibar in the room is free except for alcoholic drinks, and the supplies are the British brand aromatherapy associates. Marvis toothpaste and Dyson hair dryer are also standard. The bedding is good and very comfortable. The bathrobe is the same as the Ritz-Carlton style, which is worthy of the price.
The hotel breakfast is a set meal, with both Chinese and Western options, provided by the hotel's Chinese restaurant Wan Guochun, and the products are exquisite. There are also some self-service bread and fruits.
Overall, if you are a tourist visiting Suzhou for the first time, it is highly recommended to come here to experience it, you will not be disappointed.

Positives: The location of the hotel was perfect, right in the heart of downtown. Transportation was accessible. The room was very clean, staff helpful and friendly, breakfast was delicious and fresh everyday as well as their hours were comfortable every mornings.
Negatives: as a man, a disposable razor for shaving would’ve been nice, the room was a bit smoky every time entering, a public restroom should’ve been accessible by the gym room

Very large room with lots of space. The beds were comfortable. The room has a projector and entertainment system. It was great to watch a movie after a busy day sightseeing. Some of the movies were in English.
We only stayed a night but would have stayed two if it wasn't booked out. The hotel is in a very good location near Guanqian Street and Pingjiang Road.
We were on the third floor. There was no elevator if you have alot of luggage something to consider.
I would stay here again.

This place was great! Super quiet (admittedly, I was there on a Tuesday) and clean room with new furnishings. There is no elevator, but you'll probably be on the second floor, and this was fine by me. The hotel staff were nice, too :)
The only thing that I'd add is that the curtains on the room's (very spacious!) window could have been darker. As it is, you might be woken up at dawn by the natural lighting! :)
Oh, and the bed is pretty hard, which, personally, I love.
Would book again! :)

It is a nice and chill hostel. Most people keep to themselves, but I wouldn't say that is necessarily a bad thing. Facilities are great too. However, the layout of the singular pod rooms are strange and it is still essentially a shared room with 4-6 people, but the way it is built, you basically have your own small room. I don't think this works as people are constantly hitting the walls of their tiny room and slamming the doors of their rooms. Basically, don't expect to have a peaceful night's sleep.

I really liked the hotel a lot! The room is really spacious and comfortable, the inner courtyard is beautiful and the location is great within Gusu! The only slight drawback which i supposed can't be held in an old building is that I found several bugs in the room, in particular across the bed. Also room service forgot a nail on top of it - I am guessing otherwise I have no idea how it got there. Everything else was clean and well managed. Would definetly come again!

I've booked two nights of family size apartment (which is really spacious and impressive with its views). Unfortunately, I had a fly in the ointment after the first night there. Receptionist called me at 2 o'clock and informed me, that it's time to check out. I was slightly puzzled and went downstairs to the lobby right after the call. They told me again about checking out, so I showed them my booking information, they also seemed confused and concerned. Fortunately, they solved this issue, but I'd say it's my first time to face such ridiculous issue, although they claim themselves as a 5 star hotel. I hope they'll improve their service and booking system.

The hotel has the 园林vibes hence it’s really pretty, feel like living in a palace. And the best part is it’s connected to 盘门and there is free entry for guests. Should take a look it’s really pretty! Although it’s abit far from the main shopping area but it’s still worth it as the hotel is pretty! The only improvement would be it will be good if there is free laundry room.

GGuest UserThis quaint B&B is amazing! From the exterior to the interior decoration, every detail reveals a strong classical charm. The wooden furniture, ancient decorative paintings and traditional decorative style make people feel like they have traveled back to ancient times. Here, you can feel the strong historical atmosphere and experience the ancient way of life. In addition, the service of the B&B is also very thoughtful, and the staff are very warm and friendly, making people feel at home. In short, this B&B is a very unforgettable stay experience, I highly recommend it!
GGuest UserThe new hotel is close to Vientiane Plaza, just across the road. The parking is very convenient. There is a ground and a basement. The sanitation of the guest rooms is very good. The service attitude at the front desk is also very good, and they will deal with the needs of the guests in a timely manner. Takeaway It was delivered by a robot, it was a great experience, and I will choose this hotel in the future
Jjimmyliu2I have been to Tongli Lake Resort for two consecutive years during the National Day holiday. This time it was a family trip with 5 families. This time I stayed in the second phase garden view twin room. The second phase was built later and the decoration was a little newer than the first phase villa room. The hotel has complete tourist facilities and can basically meet the needs of children. The ticket to the ancient town is free after 5 pm! It took a long time to get the room during the National Day. It would be better if it could be optimized!
Free shuttle bus from the hotel to Tongli Ancient Town: The shuttle bus is convenient and it takes 5 minutes to get to the north gate of the ancient town
Experience Hanfu or horse-faced skirt: convenient rental and humanized timekeeping
Children's playground: suitable for children to play
GGuest UserThere were a few ants in the first room we booked, but after a few screams and a phonecall we were quickly moved to another ant-free room. The staff were so helpful, kind and willing to communicate in English to the best of their ability. They made plenty of gestures with bowls of fruit, fragrant sacks and even a personal delivery of the food menu when we couldn't find the English menu on the TV. Their frequent arrivals had us jumping in our robes to grab the door every so often, but each time we were grateful to receive such thoughtful snacks and smells. Lovely place. Would visit again.
LljjjRoom: The room is quite okay, not too small but not too big. We can open two 24-inch suitcases in the room.
Air Conditioning: The air conditioning is a standard unit (not central), and you can use the remote to set the temperature according to your preferences. You can adjust it to be very cold or less cold.
Amenities: Every day, they refill two bottles of mineral water for us. They also provide new slippers, a toothbrush, toothpaste, and shampoo daily. Towels can also be changed every day. There are about 4-5 sockets in the room. Remember to bring a universal adapter, as the sockets are not designed for international use, although there is a USB port that can be used directly.
Shower: The water pressure is not very strong but still acceptable.
Breakfast: The hotel only has a pantry area with 1 table and limited chairs (similar to pantry) and no restaurant.
Transport: The hotel is near the Humble Administrator's Garden (5 minutes walking distance), Lion Forest Garden (3 minutes walking distance), and Suzhou Museum (5 minutes walking distance). The Humble Administrator's Garden and Suzhou Museum are located side by side. If you don’t mind walking, you can also reach Pingjiang Road (15-20 minutes walking distance) and Guanqian Street (15-20 minutes walking distance). For other attractions, you might need to call Didi.
Location: There is a Family Mart located in the same row as the hotel, making it easy to buy snacks. My travel dates are May 21, 2024 - May 23, 2024. There is some construction nearby (it seems to be a new metro construction). It’s not noisy but a bit dusty. When walking to Pingjiang Road and Guanqian Street, you need to walk near the main road and construction site. It can be slightly dangerous, but many people are using the same route.
Laundry: They offer a free laundry service. You can use the washing machine and dryer for free. However, there are only two washing machines and two dryers. Many people use them at night, so you might need to wait when others are using them.
Overall, it is good for a short stay and budget travelers.
AAjiajiaerTravel with a small baby and grandparents on weekends.
The hotel is right next to Tongli Ancient Town. You can ask the security guard to call a shuttle bus to the lobby when you walk to the hotel gate.
Service: When checking in, the tall staff in the lobby (sorry, I forgot his name) gave the baby balloons and fish food, and helped deliver the luggage to the room; heard that we were going to the ancient town, and sent a map of the ancient town; the staff of the club were also very good. Seeing that we took the baby to swim, they took the initiative to provide the baby with a swimming ring and helped us send a bath towel; because it rained, the outdoor children's playground was a little wet, and the staff took the initiative to wipe the wet slides and seesaws! The intact sand also took the initiative to provide paper towels and the like. After checking in, Xiao Han at the front desk also added WeChat, and answered all questions and responded in time. In short, the service is really good.
Environment: The hotel is simply a big park, with large lawns everywhere, many fish ponds, rockery, and fountains. There is also a light show in the evening, which ends at the end of October.
Facilities: The facilities inside the room are really average. After all, the hotel is quite old. There is a bit of odor when you enter the room; but everything outside the room is pretty good! There are both indoor and outdoor children's playgrounds (free disposable socks are also provided in the indoor children's playground); the swimming pool is also superb, and there is even a water slide in the doll pool! Babies of 22 months can also play; the adult pool is very large, but the water temperature feels low. The other one has a recreational pool with surfing and water spraying, and the water temperature is also good. There is also a huge rabbit activity area outside the western restaurant, and it is fun to feed the rabbits! !
Food: The buffet dinner is average, but it is better than expected and you can eat enough. After all, the price is there. The breakfast is okay, the noodles are really good, and the braised meat is so delicious.
Overall, it is okay, and the price is a bit high for the room facilities. The price is pulled up by the service and other facilities.
SSxBomb3000📍 Location is quite convenient, jus next to the subway.
👩💻 Front desk were kind, and fast.
☕️ Breakfast was a mixture between western and Chinese cuisine
🛏️ Bed was comfortable.
Id recommend this to anyone! Had an amazing time!
Qqueen_kooIf you’re looking for a perfect 4 star venue in the city centre then look no further! This place is a good bargain all round the year and even in peak seasons. I am going to split my review into sections so bare with me.
1) Rooms: The outdated the rooms need a serious paint jobs and the couch is quite “scratchy” material wise. Despite the interior eye sore, the flats are quite cosy with everything you need. Scenery wise , those who aren’t afraid of heights request the balcony rooms ! Maybe they don’t have the views of the shanghai centre shopping mall but the evening breeze did put me to sleep like a baby! Also the television was well packed with nostalgic movies , I really enjoyed the entertainment. Although the TV volume doesn’t go too loud , I guess it’s good respect to the neighbors some of who are long term tenants.
2) Service: Impeccable. The people here, although clearly overworked are so nice! The housekeepers are all so wonderful ! They were the ones who let me come back to a clean flat everyday , really it was a piece of home with a whole lot of help! For shampoos and conditioners and shower gel you would need to let the front desk know you need it, so please keep that in mind!
3) Breakfast: Just enough for survival , I’m quite particular about my tastes in food where the buffet options were too less and unfortunately not too tasty. But I was able to survive…I really hope they can fix this though cause the place although cheaper than others isn’t exactly cheap as well. If you want a good breakfast spread , you will be left heavily disappointed.
There’s a lot of cost cutting the hotel group has done and it’s obvious…I hope Ascott takes this into consideration cause it’s not good to have better hotels around the world but keep smaller cities forgotten and tightly budgeted!!
Suzhou is quite expensive than other cities due to the constant influx of tourists.
I don’t usually write much for my reviews but In this case I seem to care after seeing the overworked hotel staff and the poor conditions around them.
Come on Ascott do better. I initially was tempted to give a 3/5 review stars but it’s the people that pushed it up.

Sseven_47The room is very spacious, the environment is very good, the simple decoration style, it feels clean and comfortable, the setting is fully equipped, the boss service is good, there is a parking lot, there is a charging pile nearby, breakfast is basic but the taste is not bad. Very Good
GGuest UserOverall, I am quite satisfied with the service. The young man received us throughout the whole process with a good attitude and awareness. The family saw us and upgraded our room for free. It is worth praising. The style is quite unique. The serviced apar**ent is modern and simple. The security is very high. You need to swipe your card. 24-hour security. The location is excellent. There are shopping malls behind the Jinji Lake Scenic Area. The transportation is very convenient. The hygiene is also very clean. The bed is very comfortable. I will bring my family to play and stay here next time.
