Hotels near Pan Gate in Suzhou

The location of the hotel was perfect for me, there is a metro station right across the street. The general impression was not bad but there were some minor flaws. My room was rather spacious but dark with a very small window under the ceiling. The interior is also a little dated. The walls definitely need a fresh coat of paint. And when I checked in there was a weird smell in the room, so I kept the window open all the time. The bathroom was super clean though and the bed really comfortable. The hotel is pretty quiet, at least I couldn't hear any noise from the neighboring rooms.

The free hanfu experience was disappointing. There was no enthusiasm or any attempt to promote the services. Initially I was keen on the add-on make-up experience but did not have the confidence to take it up seeing the lack of motivation from the service staff, who were busy on their phones most of the time. We had breakfast at the Rui noodle house. The food was so-so compared to everything else we tried in Suzhou. However i am rating Pan Pacific 5 stars as the above are not directly controlled (I assume) by the hotel. The hotel’s service staff were warm and helpful. They arranged for a room with a fantastic view of the Panmen Scenic Area. Also, we received a surprise dessert/birthday treat in the room with a sweet note. Derrick at the front desk was especially helpful and proactive with solving a payment issue we had with food delivery and arranging for late checkout. Thank you! We also appreciate the tickets and access to the Panmen area. It was super lovely to enjoy all it had to offer at a leisurely pace without the crowds at some other scenic areas. All in all a wonderful stay and we would be most confident to recommend Pan Pacific Suzhou to family and friends.

The hotel is within walking distance of the subway which is only 10 minutes away from the main railway station so easy to get to if you are visiting Suzhou and convenient for getting around the city. Check in was smooth and fast and the lovely girl at reception spoke good English which is always helpful even though I speak some Chinese. The hotel decor is very cute and music themed, everything was very clean and new looking. I booked the Double Comfort room which was basic but still had some lovely touches.A very comfortable bed, hot shower, bottled water, tea and slippers which you might not expect in a value room. Possibly the cutest thing about the hotel were the little robots who delivered take out directly to your room door. The only down side is that the noise from other rooms and guests carries easily across the halls but that is not the hotel's fault, and it didn't really stop me sleeping. Check out was fast and I was given a small bottle of water when I left was a kind gesture. I would definitely stay here again if I visit Suzhou.Great value and service, and very foreigners friendly!

The location of this hotel was good. There was a family mart just downstairs and it was close to many different Gusu hotspots and attractions. The hotel is very clean and modern, but the rooms are old and a bit outdated. Even so, very clean and you get what you pay for. They have everything you need and even had little touches like putting a note on your bed with the next days weather forecast-very thoughtful. Would recommend if you’re looking for affordable Accomodation in Gusu.

Facilities: Very classical, full of Jiangnan garden atmosphere Hygiene: I didn’t find any hygiene dead spots. The hotel is not new, but it is very clean. Environment: Those who like garden atmosphere will like it very much. The swimming pool is also divided into indoor and outdoor areas. It is very big and very good. Service: The lady at the front desk is very kind and polite. She was the only one doing the processing and she was very comfortable👍 The hotel also includes tickets for Panmen Scenic Area. You can enter the scenic area directly from the hotel with your room card. It’s really great. Panmen is also super fun.

Booked deluxe room but free upgraded to deluxe suit room. It was really awesome stayed especially after tired business trip from Shanghai. The room was unexpected spacious for 2 of us. Thank you again for the great full hospitality. Makes us unforgettable pleasant trip.

The doorman is also very dedicated, helping to take the luggage and delivering it to the room. The security guards are also in place to supervise the parking of the vehicles, and the cleaning staff are very serious; second, the room attendants fully satisfied our request for a few more bottles of mineral water, and provided them every day during the four-day stay; third, the breakfast organization is very orderly, and individual guests and team or conference personnel are separated and do not affect each other. Every breakfast, you can see the restaurant supervisor on site to assist in the arrangement, and the service staff can also clean up the dining environment in time. This is a problem that many five-star hotels have not solved well, but it is handled very well here; fourth, the parking environment is very convenient and safe, and the hotel is in a good location; fifth, the hotel environment fully reflects the characteristics of Suzhou gardens, and the internal environment is very beautiful. The hotel room is clean and tidy, the view on the 16th floor is nice, the service of the staff is very good, the disposable slippers are very nice, and the fresh meat mooncakes and Qingtuan downstairs are delicious.

The new room I was provided with was very nice and clean. The room I booked online turned out to be near the reception desk which made it a little noisy for me: I asked them if I could stay in another spare room, I was provided with a new room after discussion. Before that, I felt discriminated just because of my visa situation (I am eligible to a visa-free stay in China for up to 3 months) and one of the staff members seemed not to believe me and was treating me in a discriminative way. It was also a bit complicated as regards the laundry service arrangement. After having shared my discomfort by asking whether something was wrong, she started doing her best to be helpful. I believe we are all humans in progress and we can all learn from this situation. I would still recommend this hostel, I think it was just a one time incident. I believe being honest is good, so my honest comment is a good comment. :)
