Mercure Suzhou Shilu Shantang Street Hotel

Disappointed with the overall experience. First, the hotel is located inside a mixed-use building with many other hotels and restaurants. Because of that, the lobby area had a strong smell of cigarette smoke, which was unpleasant. The elevators were also a huge hassle. We had to wait a long time every time, and the lift kept stopping at almost every floor, which wasted a lot of time. Inside the room, the air conditioning was not working properly, and when I informed the staff, they just gave me a fan. Honestly, I didn’t expect to stay in a hotel and rely on a fan to stay cool ,very disappointing. Even worse, the electricity went out twice while I was taking a shower. It was extremely inconvenient and frustrating. To make things worse, some of the staff had a very bad attitude when we asked for help. Unfortunately, they weren’t wearing name tags, so I couldn’t identify them. On the positive side, the room was clean, and they allowed early check-in, which I appreciated. The location is also decent, and the breakfast was average ,nothing special. Overall, I would not stay here again. There are definitely better options available for the price.
