It was very close to where we had to go for an event that went very late, so that worked well. We were able to get a family room (3) and the area around the hotel was beautiful. Sadly, we REALLY didn't like having the fire alarm go off at 5:55am due to someone boiling their kettle under a sensor (which is what we were told) and then again at 8am on a Sunday. We had been to a party the night before and were exhausted. I appreciate that our safety is important to the hotel, but the hotel did not offer any good will gesture on their part for this inconvenience.

Walked into the reception, no receptionist just an A4 piece of paper with a mobile phone number saying ring for attention there was a hand set on the counter but that didn’t work with no mobile signal inside I had to call from the car park not the best of greetings. We were given our room key number 23 and directed towards a staircase at the side of the bar. The corridors were dark , narrow with a damp fusty odour. Opening the room door was like opening a window to the 1940s/50s and it looked like the room had not been decorated since that period. The wallpaper was peeling there was open cracks in the wall and ceiling, the bathroom again looked like it had not been painted since the 50s the shelf had flaking paint the toilet roll holder was broken and rusting the plug for the washing basin had a hole in it?. We were woken by the fire alarm sounding at 05:45 we evacuated our room and made our way to the assembly point what a farce people were just milling around there was not a member of staff in sight to take a roll call it was evident that not all guests had evacuated the hotel after 15 minutes we were told it was a false alarm probably due to someone smoking in their room the alarm went off again at 08:35 again no one evacuated the hotel. On the plus side the bar staff and waiting staff were spot on Unfortunately this hotel failed to impress we will be giving this a very wide berth in the future.

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Nicola and her team at Brook Marston Farm Hotel. We had the best day! Nicola made sure our day run so smoothly, food was lovely, DJ was amazing and the hotel grounds are just so pretty! The process from start to finish was made so easy. It was the best day of our lives and we can’t thank you enough! Love Mr & Mrs Addison x

Came to this hotel to try out the restaurant as I live local. Was greeted at reception, then walked through a lovely courtyard to get to the restaurant. Evie the waitress was fantastic. A very polite young lady and nothing was too much trouble. There was a nice selection on the menu and reasonably priced. I chose the linguine which was the best I’ve tasted so compliments to the chef. Restaurant and bar was lovely with the beams showing, Very relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Would highly recommend and will be returning again.

Visited for afternoon tea. It was freezing cold not just in the restaurant but everywhere in the hotel. Even the staff wore jackets or body warmers. People sat having afternoon tea in their coats. The whole place lacked any atmosphere whatsoever and seemed very tired. Coffee appeared to be instant, very cold and not many people about, no road signage. Afternoon tea was basic with nothing ‘different’ … but ok. Toilets a route march from restaurant but everywhere seemed clean but very dated. A lot of noise from the M42. A shame because it has potential to be a lovely country hotel.

We held our wedding at Brook Marston Farm Hotel and it was the most magical day. Nicola and her team went above and beyond to ensure our day was special and personalised to us. All of the finer details were taken care of and the communication from booking to our special day was excellent. Nicola checked in with us regularly and is such a calming figure to have around on your wedding morning! Thank you for everything, Charlotte & Matt.

We travelled some distance from Solihull to take afternoon tea at the hotel on a Groupon voucher, booked for 3.30 p.m. The guy manning reception showed us to our table, seating us in the Drawing Room, to accommodate my husband's disability, and made us a pot of tea. We then waited 35 minutes to actually get our tea! When I sought a member of staff, serving at a bar two rooms away, she informed me that our tea would arrive but they were busy serving other guests! When we did get our tea, with a fresh brew, as requested, it seemed we had been waiting while the young man we saw initially had prepared our food as well so hope he washed his hands between working at reception and making sandwiches. The hotel gave the impression it is struggling, with poor shabby decor and carpets, and the toilets very much in need of an urgent upgrade. Wouldn't want to stay there and if the idea of issuing Groupon vouchers was to attract more custom, they certainly failed as far as we were concerned, although the sandwiches and scone were very good, obviously bought cake less so.
