Sleep Inn & Suites Rehoboth Beach

We needed to get away after the bad weather. Lewes is a great little town to visit but a lot of things are only open during the season. We wanted a reasonable price motel with breakfast. Our room had 2 double beds with microwave, refrig. and coffee maker. The bathroom had a walk in shower with the usual toiletries. Breakfast was very good in that we had cereals, waffles, eggs, bacon and sausage. It's nice that the motels have returned breakfast after the Covid restrictions. The view from our room was the parking lot and a retirement village. But you are not there for the view.
The Breakers Hotel & Suites

Great hotel walking distance to stores, bars and restaurants. And the beach! It was much quieter then I expected and clean. Nice staff. Descent breakfast in the morning. Excellent location. Was there for a friends 50th birthday and many of us stayed there. The rooms have a small balcony. One problem was that the wifi went out so it was difficult to do work, but other than that, no complaints. Would definitely stay again!
Hotel Bethany Beach

If you want a spacious newly refurbished room and hotel with very nice staff located in the center of many things to see and do, this is the perfect hotel to stay. They are even pet friendly. The free morning breakfasts are delicious with quite a variety to choose from, and the area is very clean with nice family like conversation with the people in the breakfast area. Price for a hotel with these accommodations is normally much higher than what Hotel Bethany charges.

Would give them a zero if I could. We stayed here the night of Saturday, April 9, 2022. We got to sleep just fine, but at 12:30 AM were awakened to screaming, slamming doors and running up and down hallways/stairwells. This went on through 3AM. We also smelled cigarette smoke and ********* smoke. We called down to desk and the night clerk said ”she was taking care of it.” Yeah right - after we threatened to call the police she must have called and the cops kicked out a group of ”people” that were raising hell into the early hours of the morning. My wife and I had a 7 hour road trip ahead of us the next day but only got about three hours sleep that night! Next day, we waited to check out the hotel until Melissa, the manager, arrived at 8AM. When we told her we had only slept 3 hours and complained about the noise, cigarette and ********* smoking, Melissa became very sarcastic and she said ”I only got three hours of sleep, too, because the police called me because of all the the problems here! I can't be here to tuck the guests in, you know!” (Direct quote). When I complained about the fact they have all these ”rules” but obviously do not enforce them, she just argued and said ”What do you want me to say?” Unbelievable. When I told her families were staying here with kids, and ********* is being openly used, she kept asking me ”What do you want me to say?” If you want to stay in the chimpanzee house at the zoo during feeding time, go ahead and book a room here. Actually, the zoo would have better accommodations!
Hampton Inn Rehoboth Beach

The overall property seems clean and the staff helpful (at least during the day). My issue is within the room. We stay in alot of chain hotels so when we got to our room we both immediately knew this room was smaller then a standard hotel room, unfortunately our price for the room not small. It reminded us more along the size of a Microtel (a little larger). So because of the size they can only fit 1 chair in the room and the only nightstand is 1 between the two beds and it's not very big (no compartments or drawers). The real pain is the closet door that doubles as a bathroom door. This is not the way to save a buck Hilton! Pony up and get 2 separate doors. First of all the door is quite heavy and if you're in the bathroom trying to get out you have to get a good grip and it's almost impossible for small children. Another is a privacy issue, the door has no lock so if someone goes to close the closet door they are opening the bathroom door! The other problem with this set up is safety, I had opened the bathroom door and just as I was exiting the bathroom my husband was opening the closet door and got my hand caught in the door. It's a really stupid idea on so many levels! The last issue is a very serious safety issue, at around 4 am all the smoke alarms went off on our entire floor (and I believe throughout the building. To say they were loud is an understatement. But piercing loud is what you want if there is a fire but what you also want is some instructions as what we should do. The alarms were going off for at least 20 minutes. We tried multiple times to call the front desk and no one answered! No instructions, no guidance no nothing! Thankfully it wasn't an active fire (but we didn't know that) but if it was we would have been out of luck. Because of this I would not return to this hotel.
