Gold Coast Inn

It was a cozy place to stay in. Room is clean and spacious even if you have lots of luggages. Loved the mini kitchen/dining, very aesthetic. Although the sink is quite small, especially if you're washing the utensils but, still manageable 😉. Tram station is just a few steps away, going to and from to other places is not an issue.

Make sure your visa card comes through so that you can pay the additional fee at 21.00/9 p.m. or you might be ending up homeless as I did. No, it can't be handled the day after even if you have payed for more than one day. It is their policy. Well - as above, so below. As within, so without. I wonder what the rooms were like ey?

Good area & excellent price!! Near public transport & shops, for Surfers Paradise not too expensive but much better than it was years ago when I stayed there. Impressive as it still works out well staying for as long as you need without breaking the bank along with all needs meet in the process.

Ok location however after check out - they charged me $30 and accused me of stealing 2 pillows and their cases!!! I mean, who would want to steal manky pillows! Also, the room had a light with a fan, however, the fan had NO blades on it so didn't.

Very cautious about unsafe area, people, and practices. Paid online for a two night stay. They phoned me and asked me to pay a security deposit before showing up, reminding me there is a no refund policy. Front desk only open 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM. No one there on arrival just before 2pm, and no parking. Looked like a construction site with building materials scattered. Not like the pictures. They asked to withdraw additional the $100 security from my credit card and send copies of credit card and photo ID car licence offsite for additional security. They would not say where. My bank informed me that I would not be covered if any money went missing I asked for various options, such as a holding deposit rather than withdrawal, and writing my drivers licence details down rather than sending them off to an offsite location. In response, they kept me waiting for 1 ½ hours. Then told me again, no room without additional payment and copies of credit card and licence sent offsite. The manager on the phone then said a full refund would be given. We left and stayed elsewhere. Around this time the money to stay was withdrawn from my bank account by them. No refund. No room. Cautious about an unsafe area, people, and practices. Lesson learnt. Have contacted them repeatedly, and told as yet, no resolution. Awaiting a possible resolution ... but not as yet.

I will admit that I selected this hotel on price and location. Check in is a little difficult as you fave to arrive at a set time period or pre arrange before you get there. Called the front desk and was checked in without too much bother. Car park is underneath but you need the code to access, which you get on check in, so need to park somewhere in the meantime. Room was clean, equipped with everything I needed. There was also a kitchenette arrangement. It was at the rear and was relatively quiet. However, the place has a feeling of a half way house, or low income rentals. It seemed to me there were long-term residents. The hotel offers little, no food, nothing in fridge, no restaurant, no meals. There is a pool tho. For a cheap one night stay it was ok. Would I stay longer, I don't think so.

So many issues with the management here Way too expensive for what you get The stay itself is average, at best. Room had aircon as a plus, however fridge is small, toaster+kettle they advertised as ‘kitchen appliances’ were incredibly rusted, smelt bad and weren’t clean, I didn’t even risk using them. Shower, toilet and sink are cramped Ended up using my own data for the stay as the internet provided was very slow Driveway entry is incredibly steep, PIN numbers have to be inserted to access gate (these are in the most inconvenient spots) The reception are virtually never sitting at the desk, good luck catching them while they are. Impossible to communicate with any management or owners, regardless if it’s an email or phone call. My main issue is with management. A lot of back and forth in September 2022 ended in a $1,500 credit for a 12 day stay. I was fine with the credit. Had it in writing, booked in advance 2 seperate 4 day stays at the Gold Coast Inn during January (received invoice and booking confirmation) The day of my weekend stay the Gold Coast Inn got in touch with me stating I had to pay cash for my stay, there was no ‘record of my credit’ on file and they essentially refused to investigate or work with me on this matter. Apparently they were under new management since March 2023 and anything booked or arranged prior to that is null and void. Need I remind you I had these two stays fully paid for and had a receipt. I also had original email chains between me and management from September containing all proof of the credit issued + formal files. After much time of me chasing them up they’ve essentially said ‘too bad, too sad’ and I have to suck up that I lost $1,500 Unfortunately I will never be returning, this inn has zero care with facilities or customers, even after ‘new management’

Very run down property. Dirty, you had to climb up on a chair to turn on the aircon, ceiling fans didnt work, dead bugs splattered on the walls, mould build up in the shower, shower door was broken, bed was far beyond its use by date. If it only cost $150 per night it is what you would expect but at the price they charged, forget it!!!!!!

Stayed here for two nights after Christmas Place looks run down and is for sale but that’s the only downside The rooms were great clean and tidy Antonio was excellent manager,front desk, supervisor was everywhere Underground parking was excellent Swimming pool was v good The great asset of this property is its location About 100 from tram halt which brings you north and south within Surfers without any effort Certainly would recommend and would stay there again Accommodation Price was good -book direct for best rate.
