Was suggested to upgrade to junior suite by a very pleasant lady at the front desk.
I decided to go ahead with the suggestion, which was so worth it . The junior suite grants access to the executive lounge. Upon reaching there , I was served by an extremely welcoming , warm and friendly chef name Alfred. He takes the time to really introduce the dishes with so much passion and warmth . He ensure that I was well taken care of. Had an extremely pleasant time at Sheraton thanks to him. His service is one of the reason which makes Sheraton the top choice for subsequent stays whenever in Surabaya ( not to mention the delicious Rawon that both the executive lounge and lobby restaurant serve)
The other staff at the hotel are really friendly , always greeting customers with a smile.
The amenities provided at the hotel are really sufficient too
I recently spent my New Year's celebration at the Marriott Surabaya, and let me tell you, the first impression was like discovering a ”classic vinyl record”—a bit outdated yet full of charm! The decor leans towards the older side, but I was prepared for this vibe thanks to various reviews I had read.
After settling in, I grew to love the cozy atmosphere—like wrapping myself in a warm blanket. The room was surprisingly spacious, offering more space than many newer hotels, making it feel like my own little oasis! The bathroom was also gleaming and roomy enough for an impromptu dance party, should the mood strike!
Now, let’s dive into the breakfast experience at Pavilion. The cage-like design of the venue adds a unique touch, inviting plenty of sunlight—perfect for brightening up your morning. The buffet offered a wide array of dishes to satisfy international travelers' palates, making each breakfast an exciting adventure. The selection of Indonesian cuisines and desserts was particularly impressive.
But what truly set Pavilion apart was the staff. They were superb and went above and beyond, taking the time to cater to us personally. They even recommended and brought out some local dishes—insider choices that added an authentic touch to our dining experience. In my past hotel breakfasts, the staff often just fulfilled their duties, but here, it felt more like breakfast with friends. That warmth and attentiveness made all the difference!
And don’t miss out on the local flavors of ice cream! I can’t name the flavors since they’re all in local dialects, but they were heavenly and a fun challenge to try!
For lunch and dinner, I found myself opting for room service several times because resisting their tempting menu was like ignoring a catchy tune stuck in your head. Each meal surpassed my expectations—purely irresistible!
Another delightful surprise was the complimentary laundry service offered daily, which saved me after my waterfall adventure left me looking like a mud monster. And post-overnight trip to Bromo? I was practically a walking dust bunny! As I like to say, ”It's the little things that count,” and this thoughtful touch truly made a difference.
Lastly, the hotel's location is fantastic! Just a short stroll away lies the biggest shopping mall—truly a haven for foodies and shoppers alike. Overall, my stay at the Marriott Surabaya was delightful, and I left with wonderful memories—definitely a place I’d recommend for a cozy yet vibrant experience!

Was a pleasant one. But room is a bit mehh...
Lacking a bit of cozy feel.
The items in room can be taken care better. Seems like the cleaning services can be improved.
Other than that the service service reception and hotline all works good.
Hotel location is nice and have some good access to food and restaurant.
But sadly gym closes at 5pm. Guess I can never make it then if I am here for business trip.... Hopefully the time range can be extended in the future.
Breakfast was not bad. Decent amount of choice and quality can definitely be improved.
Stay again for the 2nd time after my original first stay when we first arrived in Surabaya before moving to Jogja.
This time the room assigned to us had problem with the shower head. Its spoilt and the water was so close to the wall it is almost impossible to shower properly.
You either bump into the faucet or accidentally turned it off or moved the water setting, very frustating. If not because if its proximity to one of the largest shopping mall (Tunjungan Plaza) and my first stay room was not so bad without the shower head issue, I will surely have had a bad experience with the hotel itself. Its value for money though. The location is exactly the sane as Wyndam hotwl. (4 stars) which is jusy opposite the hotel
It was a good price for an executive suite room! There was a bathtub, large room & bed, sofa, desk, fridge, all for around IDR 600K for a night.
The lighting was so bright (which I like) because it had 2 windows and you could see the pretty sunset in the west side! Bed was comfy and pillow didn't smell at all. AC and fridge was cold enough.
But the amenities were too standard, we didn't even get a shower cap or hand soap at the sink. They only provided one for all ”soap-shampoo-conditioner” at the shower which was nice for the environment, and cotton buds.
The breakfast was so standard and they charged my son (this is the first time in any other hotel). Luckily it was for a small amount of money.
Overall it was a pleasant stay because my son and husband love having a bath at the bathtub (we don't have any in our house). Oh and the smart TV provides youtube and prime videos. Perfect for a weekend-getaway!
The hotel is not very cozy, a lot of fuss, you don't want to come back here. The bed is big and comfortable, but the room is dark and the shower is uncomfortable.
Also, I was the first day in the country and was late for an event, I asked the hotel staff to help me call a cab, I didn't get any help, I had to walk in the rain to another place in an unfamiliar city, as a result I was an hour late.
The location of the rooms is inconvenient, when I tried to leave the hotel I got lost and ended up in some service kitchen.
The hotel looks beautiful in the picture, but if I ever find myself in Surabaya again, I will stay somewhere else.
The hotel is very comfortable and the receptionist and other employees are also very friendly. The place is very close to tourist attractions in Surabaya city. Located in the middle of the city too, so you can get access to any place
SSelly CellioThe room is quite spacious.
The hotel looks old but the facilities are complete with swimming pool and sauna.
Good service and strategic location.
AAnonymous UserI was pleased with my experience staying at Hotel Bisanta Bidakara. The building is kinda old, but the room was spacious and well-appointed, featuring a comfortable sofa, TV, closet for hanging clothes, refrigerator, and a relaxing bathtub. The hotel also provided a delicious breakfast with a diverse range of dishes, including nasi goreng, pecel, bubur ayam, spaghetti, nasi kuning, and many more.
However, there were a few issues that arose during my stay. The air conditioning unit failed to turn on for about 20 minutes, the remote control screen was blurry, and there was a noticeable noise from the machine. Fortunately, the AC was able to function again after a short while.
While there is room for improvement, the hotel's comfortable rooms, the wonderful breakfast experience and responsive staff make it a good choice for those looking for accommodation in Surabaya.

Since staying fit is important to a lot of guests, it's no surprise that gyms can be found in many hotels.
