I’m unable to recommend this hotel. My partner and I have been travelling Indonesia for the past month and staying in budget accomodation such as home stays and backpackers, we thought, it’s getting to the end of our trip, why don’t we pay a bit more to enjoy a little luxury. We were sold on the photos and saw that the hotel had 4.5/5 rating.
On entrance to our room there were dirty dishes at the front door, there was an instant bad odour coming from inside and there were stains on the sheets and curtains. We are not picky at all but we could not sleep in here.
We gained the courage to go and tell them. They asked if we want to change the sheets or pay for a new room?
One staff member ended up showing us another room which they classed as a ‘new room’ because it had new furniture. It was smaller but had a better smell, I told him that and he commented saying “the spray”. It was not a spray there was a big difference in the stench in other room, no spray could fix that.
Another staff member came up to explain the same thing, they repeated the price difference, they asked if we could go pay. Then the manager came to us and said we have to pay for this upgrade because this is a new room and the original room was an old one. So really we are paying to have new furniture and a smart tv. Btw the smart tv was no use because the internet was slow. The manager suggested we leave…we had just come from a 7hour train ride, there was no way we wanted to go looking for a new hotel so we paid the extra and stayed.
This is not good customer service. We were left unhappy, we were left feeling awkward for the rest of our stay.
Also they have a gym advertised none of the equipment works.
The pool also has green slime all around.
I feel their main resolution to our problem was to make more money.
