There is a lot to love about the Purest Hotel in Sungai Petani starting with the room decor. It reminded me of the style of many small boutique hotels I have stayed at in Northern Italy over the years. Simple stylish and elegant would sum it up. The breakfast spread here again ranks with some of the best I have experienced at any South East Asian Hotel. Catering no for both Western and Asian taste it offers a good selection to both. I ate a very satisfactory lunch in the restaurant on the ground floor on one day, which again was good quality. Vegetables that accompanied the dish were nicely presented on the plate and mercifully al dente, a feat that many hotels worldwide fail. Where it is let down: The marble bathroom floor, whilst stylish, is a virtual deathtrap when wet as it becomes dangerously slippy. This is as mentioned in previous reviews and could be solved with the simple addition of a rubber floor mat. Being a supposed 4 star hotel and given it has a swimming pool I would have expected bathrobes, but there were none. When I enquired I was told they were available at the pool, they were not. When I enquired at reception no one seemed to have a clue as to wheter they had them or not. I was eventually told they did not provide them. This, despite me having seen the same in the housekeeping laundry basket. The pool area is a bit of a mess with stacked chairs here and there and no staff until 4pm. In the meantime it's seems to be used by hotel staff wanting to have a smoke. The pool itself, whilst great, is missing a number of tiles which looks a bit shabby for a 4 star. Note to management, some umbrellas by the sun loungers would be great for shade in the scorching rooftop sunshine. Lastly, I ordered room service on one evening and it was delivered without cutlery or condiments to begin. The food itself, a chicken burger, completely tasteless so a disappointment. As I said to begin with a few well placed tweaks and this Hotel could be wonderful and warrent the claimed 4 stars. Would I stay again and would I recommend it? Absolutely!!

Stay 4 adults 1 child.. Large room 2 queen beds 1 single. If you want a prayer mat and a kettle, ask at the reception.. The bathroom door is the type that cannot be locked.. You can push and pull the door.. the bathroom is very clean.. This hotel is antique.. Next time you want to go to SP.. You can stay here again.

An hotel to consider if you're planning a stay in Sungai Petani, Kedah, Malaysia. The rooms are well equipped and maintained. Clearness is ensured. The room is equipped with simple and needed amenities including the coffee making facilities. The front office staff too put an happy face while checking in and out. There is no private parking here by the hotel but one can always park at the local authorities parking along the road. The hotel puts up the parking coupons for you on their experience. the room is ok, beautiful and clean, but the toilet is a bit disgusting because there is water leaking on the ceiling and there are white marks on the floor, it is not clean, it is very uncomfortable to take a shower and it is dirty 😫

came here for a work trip, check in was seamless. Located right infront of kpj hospital. Close to town, room was clean and front counter staff were very friendly and accomodating .

The hotel ambience is nice and cozy, however, the room is not well maintained. When I first came to room 110, the bedsheet has some kind of stain and strands of hair. I don’t know if the housekeeper forgot to change the bedsheet??? I asked the housekeeper to change into new bedsheet. Also the room is a bit dusty. The shower drainage is poor.

My second time to Penang so this time around I booked Bertam Resorts. Here I listed out pros and cons of staying here. Pros: 1. Restaurants/shops are all near and accessible. And since I went there during Eid al-Adha, there are still some shops open, only that very few. 2. Pool is clean and huge, even the kid's pool is huge as some parents will get in to the pool to watch over their kids. 3. Interior & exterior designs are so picturesque! Make sure you bring out your OOTD outfit - Arabic/Morrocan one. 4. Maintenance service responded timely when we informed that our room's WiFi is not working properly. Cons: 1. Cannot check-ins early (if wants, need to pay extra RM50). Previously I have checked-in other hotels room, usually this will be no issue so long the room is ready and no extra charges. 2. Stairs to the lobby - we have to drop-off my parents in front of the lobby. We cannot use buggy to bring our luggage to the car or for our parents to ride. This leads to car queueing infront of the lobby when check-ins/check-outs. 3. Our toilet clogged - I tried to drain as much water as possible but it's not possible since it's near to toilet bowl and very slippery. 4. If wants to take the pool's towel, we have to drop our hotel card. In which I think not a safe practice considering we don't bring our stuffs together - wallet, money etc. to the pool and leave it in the room. 5. Game room is not open until 12 pm. Hopefully the hotel's management considers it to be open early in the morning until 12 am. 6. The hotel room's arrangement is not as flexible. I booked 2+1 rooms but we have to explain over and over again why then they keeps asking the same question in which taking so much time to simply check-ins. Overall, I hope that they will improve to be better.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel room was very clean and comfortable. 24 hour reservation staff and 24 hour security for onsite parked cars. Location was convenient to numerous venues

Just nice . Clean room but to small its okey for 2 person . The toilet very small space but clean . Everything good . Aircond good .

Thankyou for the booked vallet parking for free and also 4 oranges. Got informed a day before, that the room that booked is redundant with other customer booking. Accepted it without argue because already tired from travel. So the room got additional bed but in bad condition. The bed was broke once sitted. But get fixed in a second. Then was change to other room with same condition. Meh Got cockroach room both rooms, old furniture, tv no sound 1 room , shower cannot adjust the temperature 1 room and was CHARGED RM30 for dirty bedsheet NOT because durian, mangosteen or dragon fruit . Its just normal stain from snacks. Paid just because fed up with everything.
