Serena Inn & Suites - Sundance

Very clean, good sized room. Tidy well kept furniture and decoration. Comfortable bed. Pleasant staff. Good TV selection. Fridge, MWave, Coffee Machine. Above usual standard of typical motel. Basic breakfast.

On April 23rd, 2022, I was in Wyoming to see National Monuments. However, due to the inclement weather conditions, the roads are closed. So I booked a room at Serena Inn & Suites - Sundance for a day to leave the next day. The next morning, the sun is up and bright but the roads are not open yet. So I waited till the hotel's check-out time to see whether I need to extend my stay at the hotel or not. In the meantime, I was constantly checking Wyoming Travel Information Service and their DOT website to see when the roads will be open again. Comes to the hotel's check-out time, I have no information about when Wyoming roads will be open. All other neighboring roads are open except Wyoming, I guess the state doesn't see any urgency in reopening the roads / to resume business back to normal, maybe because the total population is only 578,803! I then extended my stay for a day since Wyoming travel information is not updated and not answering phone calls. Just within 25 mins, the roads open! I quickly went to the front desk and explained the situation. The front desk manager became too technical and fail to see what their customers are going through. She declined my request to cancel my booking for the day because I just passed the hotel's check-out time. Oh, man! check out the weather condition in Wyoming on April 23 and 24th 2022. It's terrible to get stranded in Wyoming with blizzards, snowstorms, wind gusts, and bad road conditions. I guess that's how Serena Inn & Suites at Sundance make a profit from their customers. When my request to cancel the booking was rejected, I was a bit shocked but tried not to show any expressions on my face. Instead, I calmly turned in the keys and thanked them for their hospitality and understanding.

Room was cold when came in. There was a chunk of ice in the bath. After picking it up I realized it was toilet bowl shaped and had apparently froze in the toilet and put in the bath to melt. Nasty! The pool was closed. Every front desk clerk had a different story as to why. Get your lies straight people. Don't stay here!

Clean, large rooms greeted us. Shower wasn’t great, but the staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. It was a great place to crash. The pool was a little cloudy, but my boys were not really planning to swim anyway. Very spacious breakfast area with standard “continental” fare. Highly recommend!
