Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Summerville, SC

The service was acceptable. The room was in the front of the motel and the outside lights shown all nite and the black out curtains did not draw so it was like daylight in the room. The bathroom had no vent to take out the humidit,. the room was cold, (the temperature was in the low 2Os outside) I had to use the hair dryer to warm it up. Threre was no Kleenex, no hear lamp. I choose Country Inn because of their rating and I was very disappointed.I I could not call this a positive experience and doubt I will encourage anyone to use Country Inn and Suites. The highlight was in the am. Mary was a true delight and very helpful. Please tell her so.

I don't often stay at Marriott properties and I was hoping to have a good experience. This was not the case. I always do my research and check the reviews before staying at a property. With this place being one of the leading properties in the area, I felt it would be a good choice. Nope. I'll just get to the point. The cleanliness of our room was sub par. Obvious wear and tear around the room, there was soap scum/grime on the sink faucet, the bathtub looked very worn, there was very little toilet paper on the roll, the beds were not comfortable, the pillows were very flat, the TV was small and not centered in the room, the fridge barely kept anything cold at all, and there was no complimentary breakfast. Not in the least impressed. Won't be coming back.

This was the 2nd time we needed a hotel in Summerville…this time for 4 nights. This hotel was a little lower priced than one we previously used….so, my mistake…booked it. They gave us a room with the window and room overlooking the roof of the next door school. I declined to accept it. We were there very early…and the location was unacceptable. They gave me a hard time until I told them to totally cancel my 4 nights, and we would go to a different hotel. They gave us another room on the right side of the hotel, but with Queen bed’s instead of a King. We were ok until the toilet wouldn’t flush at 10 pm. Who came up….the desk clerk…not a maintenance person. We had to move everything at 10 pm. The next day, with the manager intervening, gave us a King with a good view. He said he would take off one nights room fee, but when we checked out it had not been done. They finally took it off. The hotel is ok if you’re on the right side of the hotel. Otherwise you’ll be facing a school rooftop. Too many problems for us. We will probably not use HIE again if there are other options.

Arrived at 8:42 pm after a long drive to miss the sign on the door that according to the receptionist LaToya says the hotel can overcharge you a days stay and keep the funds held up for up to 14 business days. I requested to have the money released so that my account at the bank could clear but she stated she could not release the funds. The amount of a one night stay was $83.24 but they held additional funds of $84.32. Traveled across the country and have never had such a situation. Then to read additional reviews stating the same concerns, I called the police department to file a complaint. After speaking to TLaToya the receptionist, to address my concerns about the reviews and the overcharge I let her know that they had lost business as we would not be back and she just hung up on me. I called back to speak to a manager and she refused to pick up the phone so I left a message for a manager to call me. I did not get a return call within 5 business days. I called again to inquire about reversing the charge and was told my bank was holding my money. Finally, my bank refunds me the lessor amount which was the room charge, and gave them an extra $1.08 from the authorization charge. I did not even argue. Just glad to know that the bank marked the charge as fraud and returned the funds to my account. WHAT A SCAM! Now to address the room...for $84 bucks....NO! It was definitely a REGRETTABLE HOTEL CHOICE! I would advise everybody to always read the online reviews first. I did not and now wish I had. This has burned me so bad that I will never stay at any Econolodge again.
