FRAUD ALERT: I am usually not a person who gives bad reviews. My first tym ever writing a bad review.Sad to end the year with a bad note. But this incident left me with no choice. If you wish to ruin your family vacation. This is the place. Ohh.. What a terrible experience with the hotel management. I have booked via Trip.com because there was option of free cancellation since i was travelling with my kid and i like being flexible on the schedule. I booked my stay from 22 to 25th December.However our plans changed and i requested cancellation and simultaneously booked from 22nd to 24th December because i was quite confident that the first booking will be cancelled and refunded, because usually good agencies like makemytrip and others have done it in the past for us. After we checked in on 22nd i have requested the person in front desk (sumilon resort) to confirm my cancellation as well. I couldnot recall his name. But he assured that it will be done. In the meantime i was communicating multiple times with Trip.com while i was on holiday. My mind was more focussed on the cancellation than enjoying with family because it was about cancellation of 1220 sgd which is someones monthly salary in Singapore(I would love to donate this amount to charity then giving this to Frauds). I was also communicating with the front desk person again and again and until day of check out. They nodded their heads with so much confidence. Now the hotel people and Trip.com said that they cannot refund it because it was last minute cancellation. ******** excuse. My question is if its last minute for you then why you put free cancellation option in the website. Now Trip.com is trying to negotiate with me by giving 122 sgd trip coins. Hahha.. Are you kidding me? I am gonna make sure to put this review on Insta, twitter, linkedin and where ever possible. Dont come to Sumilon island resort. Its not worth your money and mental sanity.

The area was flooded during heavy rain and the Premier Room had to wait for the Dulexe Room to check in; which was the most irritating part after the heavy rain.

So nice place for comfort . For friends , For family , it’s a good accommodation!

Island is beautiful, food is acceptable. But service is very bad. I traveled by air for a few hours followed by another 3 hours on bad road condition then ferry to the hotel, when i was super tiring. I arrived at hotel at 11am and waited until 3pm to have a room. I dont understand why it takes four hours for cleaning when i have told the front desk lady multiple times that i am not feeling well. I d rather clean it myself. On the second day, we went out for diving and came back at 2pm, hotel didnt do room cleaning at all.. I also asked for a spa session. The lady pointed me to a random place with nobody inside. I walked back and forth to ask her again. It happened again when my room is ready. I cant find my room but walking back and forth. Far worse than Thailand, Indonesia in service and price are equally expensive. Suggest to train staff with basic hospitality ethics instead of leaving the guest wandering around for hours and hours. Hotel upgraded our meal with breaky and dinner. But food quality is not hotel level. No other choice on this island. I wont come back to Philippine again.

Food nice but expensive than other local restaurants .Howevr it is worth it ,coz you can sit next to the sea ,lagoon and the mangrove . Corals and underwater are vlose by and beautiful ,you can also see baby shark just in front of your toom (my rm no is no 1). Services and maintenanve both outstanding apart the front desk, Lory ,who seemed not care to help us when greeted us on arrival without telling any facilities on the island and in the hotel, instead just giving me a key to walk to the room ourselves. She siad we could ask her if we have any questions. But , when i went to the desk try to arrange a transfer for checkout date ,she told us to discuss it next day. The life guide ,toto, who is excellent ,had shown around the under water. The treck trial is about 30min you walk throughout the bush to the sandbar . The swimming pool is also a very good place to relax yourself, as you have a good view overlooking the sea

The Resort is a private island, very well kept landscaping and nice view, the food is ok, but take for ever if you want to order a la carte or room service. However it has the best Drift diving spot and the staff are super friendly. we would definitely come back.

Advantages The sea is really, really, really pretty and clean. The island is well maintained so it’s enjoyable to take a walk. The staff is really friendly. Every time I meet them, they say good morning~good evening~ and it feels like they have 🎶 at the end of their words, so I feel like I have entered the world of Animal Crossing game😃 cat disadvantage A little expensive🥹 The buffet costs 1,400 pesos per person, and even if you just order one item, it costs about 500 pesos. Ants and flying insects... Well, I guess there's nothing I can do about it. The pros far outweigh the cons, so I think I'll book again if I come to Cebu again🎶

This is a relatively satisfying journey in the Philippines. Take a tutu from Dumaguete Airport to Sibulan Pier, take a ferry to Liloan Pier, then take a tutu to the hotel pier, and then take the hotel's boat to the island. There are many steps, but the time is good. We went from the airport to the hotel in 2 hours. It is recommended to stay for a few more days. We stayed for 3 nights and were still a little reluctant when we left. This time I went to Sumilon and Siquijor. The sea water in Sumilon is absolutely a second-kill level. The three-color sea, the emerald color where green and blue interweave, is worth your travel. All rooms face the sea, the rooms are spacious, and the check-in experience is very good. The only problem is that the air conditioner is facing the bed. It is too cold to sleep at night. I slept directly on the sofa. It is recommended that the hotel build a windshield. If you can choose, I personally recommend choosing room around 10, which has a balanced view, snorkeling convenience and dining convenience. It is recommended to choose a set meal with two meals. They are all buffets. Although there are not many varieties, you have a lot more room for choice than other hotels' single meals. The meals for the three nights were different. The first day was very ordinary, the second day was very delicious, the roast pork and pork rib soup were simply invincible, and the third day was not bad. The food may depend on luck, we think it is not bad. There are several snorkeling spots. I think the white sand beach that the tour group goes to is ordinary. My favorite is the snorkeling area in front of the room. Since it is only open to hotel guests, there is almost no one. The waves are still a bit big during high tide. It is recommended to go during low tide. The wind and waves are very small. Walk out 200 meters and the water is only up to the waist. At this time, you can lie on the water and see corals, sea urchins, moray eels and Nemo. The corals are right under your nose. Be careful not to let the corals cut your life jacket and legs. The coral area is at the open-air dining table. Complain about the coconut ice cream in the restaurant. It seems to be called halo or something. It costs 550p. It is extremely unpalatable and has a bad smell. Be careful to avoid thunder.

Let’s talk about the shortcomings first: there are not many actual places for snorkeling. There is no beach in front of the sea view room, and the waves are big, so snorkeling is probably not possible. For snorkeling, you have to go to Taitail Beach. There are many people on Taitail Beach, and they are all people who go to the island on a day trip. , there are boats parked everywhere, very noisy, and there are not many fish in the snorkeling area unless you pay to swim out. The infinity pool will not be very clean. The buffet is very poor, it's hard to describe, it just fills the stomach. Of course, personal tastes are different, so I can't use mine as a standard. Advantages: The water is glassy and clear, the room is super big, the service is very good, two bottles of water a day, the balcony is large, you can relax, overall satisfied.
