I stayed at Titanic Hotel & Spa in Sulaimaniya for twelve days, and while the rooms were some of the biggest and most comfortable I’ve seen in Iraq, the rest of the experience kept reminding me that this place is not a true five-star hotel. Friends had recommended it to me, so I came in with high expectations. The first impression at the reception was positive: the front desk and bell staff were attentive, polite, and helpful. That gave me some hope, but it didn’t take long for the flaws to show. The hotel’s décor and furniture felt tired, closer to a four-star standard than anything luxury. The atrium was dim and uninspiring, and with better lighting, art, and design it could have been more welcoming. On the third floor, one of the restaurants caused a constant food odor that spread through the hallway. Every time I passed, it made the place feel less like a polished hotel and more like an average apartment block. Meals were the biggest disappointment. Across all twelve days, the food was mediocre at best. Breakfast in particular was terrible. Instead of a proper selection of fresh items, it was the same strange spread every day: chicken pizza, tenders, onion rings, and potato wedges. It felt like food for a kids’ party, not a hotel breakfast. By the third morning, it became boring, and we all stopped looking forward to it altogether. Other reviewers have mentioned the breakfast as “not fresh” or “too limited,” which matches exactly what I experienced. I would have expected a better selection of cheeses, cold cuts, strained yogurt, and cereals. On top of that, the Atlantic restaurant where breakfast was served had poor ventilation. The smell clung to my clothes after every meal, which was unpleasant and embarrassing if I had to go out afterward. The restaurants (yes, all of them) were badly managed. The manager himself often showed up in casual pants and a t-shirt, never properly dressed, and sometimes helped himself to the buffet and dined with the guests. It didn’t feel professional at all. Staff in general were rough around the edges and suited better for a 3-star hotel or regular street cafes, and the head waiter at Atlantic was especially loud and rude. He snapped at a 8 years old boy for taking a piece of cake to eat after the buffet was "closed," thinking that no one was watching. I noticed many employees shouting and arguing in the middle of the restaurant at high volume while the guests watched, which killed any sense of calm dining. Entertainment was another problem. The terrace restaurant on the third floor and the restaurant on the seventh floor both blasted loud music at night. Instead of enhancing the atmosphere, it made meals stressful. The noise carried well into other areas, which made it hard to enjoy any quiet evening in the hotel. The poor band on the terrace would sit and take alcohol breaks before, during, and after their drunk performance. The pool looked appealing at first, but it quickly turned into another letdown. O

Stupid time management and service, it was horrible and very disrespectful. We got late for a conference that we drove 5 hours for. Because they have no rooms ready. They kept making us wait by saying it will be ready in 5 10 minutes, and then they said 20 minutes

I would like to know why this hotel has a rating of 4.4 stars???? People should know that the hotel has a bad reputation through the racism of the workers, especially the Syrians, by not giving the workers their right and keeping the passport and taking advantage of the situation of the Syrian employee by not giving him his salary and the end of his service and preferring the local staff over him, although he is much better than the local employee with his experience, and this characteristic is not Professional and not related to the hotel business.. This is the story of every Syrian youth who works for them. I hope that the decision-maker will carefully consider these arbitrary measures, and we hope in the near future to change the administration immediately because they are not professional and this news is spread throughout the region and no one advises to work in this hotel due to the bad reputation of the treatment and lack of professionalism Thank you for taking the time to read this comment
