ARTOTEL Cabin Bromo
4.3/554 Reviews
The hotel is in Bromo National Park. You need to communicate with the guard to enter the park, otherwise you need to buy a ticket to enter. Our chartered driver helped to communicate. The locals' viewing platform is a five-minute walk from the hotel. You can watch the sunrise painlessly without getting up early. When we returned to the hotel for breakfast, the big group had not returned yet. We made an appointment for a jeep at 7:30 to go to the high viewing platform. It was like entering a no-man's land. It was cool! The room facilities are simple, the sanitary conditions are good, the floor-to-ceiling windows can be used to watch the stars at night. It is not cold in the room in October, but it is very cold outside. The hot water is enough for two people to take a bath. The front desk can help with luggage. If you call in advance to check out, someone will come to help with luggage. There are hot pot and barbecue for dinner, which meet everything that Chinese tourists need. They look like Chinese bosses no matter how you look at them, haha. The price is a little expensive, which is very suitable for friends who don't want to set off in the early morning and have slightly higher requirements for accommodation conditions. However, I personally think that if you plan to follow the big group to the mountain at two or three o'clock to wait for the sunrise, there is no need to stay in this hotel.
Lava View Lodge
4.4/540 Reviews
I know reviews are diverse but we just stayed here and i will try to give an honest opinion. The view from the lodge cannot be beaten, that is first and foremost what you need to know! The rooms are quite okay and so is the food. Is is spectacular? No but it is really decent quality! If the sun comes up you witness an awesome view and the rest really does not matter. Personnel is very friendly and we had a really nice stay.
SM Bromo Hotel

Stayed here for one night. Pros: 1) This is one of the closest hotels to the crater rim. It is still one hour drive away, but there are no more options to stay in between. 2) The lobby/restaurant/premises are very clean and spacious. 3) Rooms and bathrooms cleanliness is decent. 4) The place has free WIFI and the connectivity is decent, given the location. 5) The restaurant serves food all day. They made special vegetarian choices for us. They veggie soup was excellent. Their Nasi Goreng was bad. 6) The tariff is cheap. 7) The hotel is up by the hills and is a great place to walk around in the evenings. 8) The staff was polite, helpful and spoke good English. Cons: 1) The food choice is limited. But that is understandable given the location. 2) The bathrooms were small and amenities poor (small wash basins with no place to keep toiletries, for example). 3) The place is very noisy at night. It is the main path for the jeeps up to Bromo and it is impossible to sleep after 2 am.
Istana Bromo Resort and Resto

In the village at the foot of the volcano, it is relatively close to the volcano. The waitress is very friendly. After we watched the sunrise and went down the mountain, it was 11 o'clock, and she still prepared breakfast for us. It is no problem to stay for one or two days for sightseeing, and you can't ask for too much else.
Cemara Indah Hotel

The reviews I read had given me a terrible fear but it was the most convenient solution for climbing the bromine so I chose to stay here anyway. We are a globetrotting couple and I have seen much worse places. It's certainly not a 5 star hotel but it doesn't deserve all these negative reviews. Very humid room, two double beds with private bathroom and small balcony. Sheets ok, bathroom with hot water not a waterfall but there was hot water and that's already a plus... delicious food! dinner spent 10 euros for two dishes + fries and two cups of hot tea.. Honest.. good mostly Indonesian breakfast.. I don't feel like giving a bad rating to my experience. You have to think of being in the mountains where it's 9 degrees and you're in Indonesia, certainly not in a chalet in Italy.
