We enjoyed our time at MyContinental Suceava! Good location in a walkable area, wonderful breakfast buffet, and the staff are very friendly. Grateful for the air conditioning in our room to escape the summer heat! Although the hotel did not offer laundry services, we found a self-service laundry facility about 2 km away. Some shops across the street and in the neighborhood.

Very pleasant stay all in all. The a/c was working very well, which was great as temperatures were well over 35C° outside, the room was clean, if a little small, the bathroom well appointed and the restaurant did not disappoint as both the food and the service were quite good.

The hotel is good, in the center of town, and convenient to everything. I stayed there overnight, waiting for my flight, scheduled to go from the Suceava airport, which is the only city with an airport in this part of Romania. The front desk staff was friendly. I didn't try the breakfast, because my flight left too early in the morning, but I will try it the next time I am in town.

The hotel does not deserve to belong into the Continental chain. There is a face lift off currently going on, but apart from new bed sheets colors, there isn't really any value added to the old place from the '70- '80s. The food in the restaurant is still good and so it's service. Lodging is a different matter: We arrived on a cold, rainy April day. We've walked around, the we dined, and ultimately, around 7-7:30 we've gone to our rooms. The room was frigid cold. Reception told us heating will go on at 9 pm. My wife has severe health issues. We asked to get the heat pump of the AC working, so that we could get some heat. The receptionist had to call the manager's home number several time to have her agree to give us a remote to start the AC unit. Around 9 pm the heating was on but was scarce. We woke up shivering in the morning. We paid approx. 90 euros/ night which, by local standards, it's a significant sum.

The weather in Suceava was cold and rainy. We got back to our rooms around 7 pm. The temperature was around 16 C. We were told heating starts at 9 pm. Reception, after a long argument, gave us the remote of the air conditioning unit, so that we could use the heating function, to heat the room. The heating was supposed to be on between 9 pm and 6 am, but we were overall cold the whole night. The hotel joined the Continental chain, but the only notable change, from the look it had 40 years ago, was the adoption of the blue fabrics color of the Continental chain. The furniture is outdated, the rooms are small, about 14 meters square, the bathrooms minimally updated.

I don't know where to start with this hotel to be honest. The food is appalling, we arrived late on a Monday night, and were famished. We were pleased to see the hotel restaurant (I say restaurant, using the term loosely) was still open. The waiter recommended me juicy meat , which tasted like something that had been stored for years, and a beef stew which was served cold. The room we booked had no safe, filthy shower, and 1/2 a toilet roll -this to be fair was replaced when I asked. I asked the receptionist about a safe, and was told they had no safes I could use. second day of this delightful stay ended up with me being served by a male bar member with glasses, who served me cold hot chocolate, that when I queried this, was threatened with the police bizarrely, I then left a tip which was literally through back at me. The 3rd day I asked if I could eat in the bar area, for 2 reasons, 1 the restaurant had zero atmosphere, and reminded me of a prison camp, and 2 I was working and the wifi was better in the bar. Initially I was told this was no problem, but when I went to order I was told no, but I could eat in my room. Very strange. When I did eventually get food, the pot of vinegar had fly's floating in them (still there this morning in several pots) which made me feel quite sick tbh. All in all very cheap, but you get what you pay for, the location is near what little is going on in the town, other than that nothing would bring me back to the hotel.
Response from Property: Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback, but all of the above does not characterize us and things are a little different: 1) The hotel's kitchen is traditional and highly appreciated, and the fact that it is not to your taste, this is something else. 2) In the hotel bar (which does not take the place of an office), guests do not usually take off their shoes and stretch their feet on the table and for this reason you have been warned to adopt an appropriate posture. It's in bad taste. 3) You also received sugar with the hot chocolate you served. Because you put too much, you requested that another one be brought to you. My colleagues served you and when you wanted to offer tips, the answer was that we cannot receive as long as the services offered are not up to your expectations. 4) When you requested the roll of paper from the reception, you received it immediately. 5) In the field of Horeca, we would like to clarify that the bar is intended for the exclusive consumption of drinks and the restaurant for serving meals. 6) When you wanted to have a safe in the room, my colleagues at the reception told you that only the superior rooms and suites have such a thing. 7) Regarding the oil and vinegar supports, there is not one that has flies. You did not mention or draw the attention of the staff about this aspect, but it is probably easier for this untrue thing to be reported in writing. The Continental Hotel team wishes you all the best, Liana BARANAI Front Office Manager

The hotel is well positioned in the centre of the city The reception was represented by friendly staff who spoke perfect English The check in time was quick with no problems at all The rooms are not big but more than adequate for the time stay The room was warm and the beds fine. Rooms was spotlessly clean with ample hot water for the shower. The breakfast was fine with both continental and cooked style. Fried eggs on demand. If I am to be picky The bar was very closed by 11:30. If you are disabled the ramp to the lift is at about 30 degrees and would be difficult to push a wheel chair up. That’s it, to summarise. The Continental is a 3 star hotel, excellent value for money. Everybody seemed friendly and we felt perfectly safe all of the time. From reading other reviews I was pleasantly surprised.
Response from Property: Dear Guest, We are glad that you chose Hotel Continental Suceava and thank you for the time given to this feedback and for the appreciations sent. It is a pleasure to note that you had a pleasant stay and we look forward to seeing you every time you visit our city. Best regards, Liana BARANAI Front Office Manager

The hotel itself is in a reasonable position for the city centre. The rooms are very basic and in need of an upgrade. The bathroom was dirty, toilet and shower in particular, and the step in / out of the shower was dangerous as it is so high. The quilt on the bed doesn't fit and is so thin I thought it was just a thick sheet. Do not use the hotel restaurant. Every single item is heated from frozen and it shows. Quality and presentation terrible. Disabled access is not good. An attempt has been made by putting a ramp next to stairs however they are that steep I cannot see anyone getting a wheelchair up / down them. Staff were pleasant but understaffed. I had to wait 15 minutes to check out as someone was checking in and apparently had an issue. There was only 1 person behind the counter.
Response from Property: Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to provide this detailed feedback regarding your recent stay that was not up to your standards. We would have appreciated if all the aspects mentioned and related to the bathroom of the room were mentioned immediately after check-in, because the room could have been changed. The additional blanket can be requested from the reception, where the schedule is 24/24, 7/7. The kitchen of our hotel is traditional and highly appreciated by our guests. Frozen products are clearly mentioned in the menu and they are limited. Our hotel, unfortunately, is not adapted for people with disabilities or locomotor problems. We are sorry that you had to wait for check out. Every guest has the right to a clarification of a situation if it is presented to us and at the same time if it is necessary to make a payment with particularities, it is necessary to wait. The Continental Hotel Suceava team wishes you all the best, Liana BARANAI

Forse il migliore hotel nel rapporto qualità/prezzo/ubicazione di Suceava. A pochi passi dalla zona pedonale e dal monastero più importante (Sf. Ioan cel Nou) in città.

Complessivamente voto positivo
