Hallways smell really bad. The whole place in need a paint job and new carpeting. Cheap motel vibe. People very friendly and helpful. Bathroom and and sheets were clean

The door did not lock or have a safety latch and my 3 year old son was able to run out of the room at random. The first time realizing this, i broke my foot chasing home down the hall. I was refused another room for safety concerns and eventually used heavy furniture to block the door. There were cracks in the walls, the double rooms and bathrooms were very tiny. There is no dining or breakfast offered. And the pool/beach that was featured was filled in with concrete. I paid extra for the double queen deluxe suite and was downgraded due to lack of room available. I was charged $20 for a cot resulting in my overall total for my stay of about $200. I also had mystery charges for things i had not requested for my room.

Sturbridge host? No thank you.
This was marketed as the “executive suite” when I got there they said I have the “mini suite”
There was no balcony, the “mini suite” was just a large king bed with a couch and two TVs.
I said again that I was “excited to see what the executive suite was.” But, they just looked confused and said I booked the mini suite. I showed them my reservation, and then they gave me my room keys.
The hotel is very old, not up to date with many of the hotels I usually stay in. I will most likely be staying elsewhere each year when I make a business trip to Sturbridge.
I’m mostly disappointed that I spent extra money on a “executive suite” only to get a slightly larger king size room. No microwave, no fridge, and the faint smell of an old building. 4/10. Wouldn’t stay again.

It would have been perfect had there been a good cup of coffee some where in the hotel. Not the little ones in the room with powdered creamer or the one in the call where u had to pay for the pod. But a good cup of fresh coffee. Next time I will have to bring my own pot coffee and creamer.. and a cup

Way past its prime
My group of 3 came to town for a gaming convention hosted at the hotel. The staff was nice, but that’s as far as it goes.
Room wise our room had no fridge, and couldn’t get one when asked. Breakfast was advertised… no breakfast was available. Pool and hot tub advertised, pool was cold and hot tub non existent. My wife came specifically for the hot tub and was disappointed for the entire trip. Fitness room has one working treadmill, game room is on a timer and shuts down at like 7pm.
All restaurants and bars inside were closed for our stay until another group came in, then they opened for a limited time. Our rooms shower was broken and sprayed water all over the ceiling, beds uncomfortable. Kurieg in the lobby area but you have to purchase pods from a vending machine.
Overall 4 nights was $700+ and I feel like for what we paid it should have had something more. Thankful for the happy faces we saw during the convention but other than that I won’t be back and wish I could have gotten a refund or stayed somewhere else.
The hotel looks like it once was an amazing hotel but the years haven’t been good to the place. Needs a significant overhaul in maintenance and hospitality to get it back to what its former glory might have been.
