We took advantage of the wellness garden as locals; currently a relatively small fee to pay of which a proportion can be offset against food and drink. The hotel is beautifully presented inside and out. We had a coffee on the terrace with a lovely view. We used the spa garden which was quiet (mid week) and absolutely glorious. I personally didn’t risk the plunge pool as could tell from other’s reactions it was cold but the hot tub and then sauna were very enjoyable. They both have a view which is a lovely touch. There are a couple of small changing huts; just a note that you’ll have to keep your belongings on a sunbed or chair and there isn’t anywhere to get freshened up; just changed again in a hut. We knew that and the price reflects that but I didn’t feel very fresh for lunch. A missed opportunity is no one coming out to see if anyone wants drinks etc. We’d have taken advantage but didn’t really want to walk back to the hotel. Lunch was good but portions are small and we found the experience a bit disjoined; lack of information and quite long waits on things despite being quiet. A lovely place to sit and wait but we were constrained by time a little. All in all it was a lovely day for the price paid, I would go again and have booked to.

Great location. Superb service from the staff but the actual afternoon tea was a disappointment. Two of the vegetarian sandwiches seemed to have too much of what appeared to be pesto. One of the cake selection also seemed to be filled with some sort of pesto flavoured cream…..really strange and unpleasant. The scones were small and really hard and difficult to cut. The jam served with them was extremely runny and there were no tea spoons with the jam and cream. Quite surprised to have paper rather than linen napkins too. The tea was nice, the staff friendly and helpful and the service exemplary but overall rather expensive and disappointing. Certainly not the best afternoon tea offering in the area.

During our one-night stay, we were accommodated in a premium room located in an annex approximately 25 yards from the main hotel entrance. Regrettably, this information was not disclosed during the booking process, resulting in an unexpected situation. Fortunately, the weather conditions were favorable during our evening meal and breakfast, preventing any inconvenience. The room itself was satisfactory, featuring a suite with a separate living room and bedroom. However, upon arrival, we encountered an issue with the heating system, which was not turned on. We promptly contacted the reception for assistance, and they provided instructions on how to adjust the radiator valves. Nevertheless, it took over an hour for the room to reach a comfortable temperature. Furthermore, there were several maintenance issues in the bathroom. The Venetian blinds were rusty and in need of repair, the toilet cistern had a broken corner, and the vinyl floor covering near the sink was split. Additionally, the chrome kettle in the bedroom, while clean on the outside, had not been properly cleaned on the inside. Cobwebs were also observed in various areas of the room. Lastly, we had to contact the reception to obtain the Wi-Fi code, as it was not provided during check-in or displayed in the room. We had a good meal in the lovely dining room which was spoilt by the music which was 70s pop records including Sugar Sugar!!! Breakfast was excellent.

Well, a very warm welcome by the receptions, and all the staff are very helpful over and above the call of duty. The food was well presented and to a high standard, The cod and mussels for me was fantastic. One little off put was the jar of olives at the bar, must be well past the best and would be best off removed, and room 3 the sink and brushing your teeth and not making a mess on the floor was a challenge. But we will be returning.

A charming boutique hotel set in beautiful grounds with stunning views. Staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. Our arrival was delayed so we missed dinner but they were able to bring us a charcuterie plate, which was perfect. We'd eaten in the restaurant here several times before but this was our first overnight stay. Our 3 course meal during our stay lived up to expectations - creative, beautifully presented and delicious. A real fine dining experience and we were well looked after. A good selection at breakfast of cereal, pastries and local jam, honey and marmalade, with fresh fruit, yogurt and sourdough bread. However, the cooked breakfast was somewhat disappointing. The lady who served us was utterly charming, a refreshing change to be referred to as sir and madam, rather than 'you guys' which the young waiters referred to us as (which always grates me!). The bedroom had a lovely dual aspect and was light and airy and the bed was very comfortable but the bathroom had some very poor uneven panelling in the shower that was poorly screwed on and the shower door frame had seen better days. Guest information was available via downloading the Vamoos app which was not very welcome as the last thing you want to do on a weekend away is accessing your phone by having to download another app that you'll probably never use again! There is no lift and we were on the top floor but they did kindly help us with our luggage. In the wellness garden, we used the hot tub (despite a disgusting scum ring visible on it when we got in) but the brand new sauna was lovely with a huge window overlooking the fields. Their wellness area does need a bit if TLC particularly in keeping the hot tub clean and the area around the pool looked a bit shabby. Overall an enjoyable stay. They just need to have some more attention to detail in a few areas to improve. I'm nit sure I'd stay here overnight again but will certainly come back for a meal in the restaurant.

Actually our post wedding dinner party was a non event at the Burleigh Court Hotel because we cancelled due to uncooperative responses over menu choices which left us feeling there was a complete lack of hospitality & of being a completely undervalued customer. Such a disappointment , as we’re local too.

My wife and I stayed for a one night stay which we very much enjoyed. The hotel has lots of character and the grounds are lovely. We had a really peaceful nights sleep in one of the “cosy” rooms and the room was very comfortable. We had Sunday lunch and breakfast in the hotel. The food was of a high quality, and the staff serving us were very friendly and professional. In fact all of the staff we spoke to around the hotel were really friendly and had a high level of customer service. Overall we would recommend this hotel to others and we would of course stay here again.
