Really beautiful Gloucestershire..oldy world style property...nicely modernised....however....bathroom needed a bit more attention....radiator rusty and looking tatty...cracks in the plaster...actually the cracks are good..totally an age thing..so I am saying thats a positive!!!!.The loo seat was well loose though.... had a fab evening meal...great food .....great cooking....and great service..Anna is an absolute star here...introduced me to my room.... served dinner...a fabulous, attentive , customer service focussed member of staff, shes an absolute asset !!, Disappointed at breakfast......lovely produce...cooked beautifully....but...served on an ice cold plate..!!!!.1 minute in a microwave for the plate, and it would have been breakfast perfection !!!... Hey otherwise.. a fabulous stay.. a fabulous venue with fabulous staff and fab service !!!!

The service and food was much as I would expect of a gastro, but spoilt but dogs being in the restaurant. I don’t wish to hear barking or smell wet dog while I eat. There is a bar area with tables. Dogs have no place in a restaurant. Main dining area a bit of a din on a busy Sunday due to all hard surfaces and no sound absorbing measures and that’s before dogs start barking. Don’t book if you are hard of hearing. My dad could not hear a thing. In future I will be going to one of the many other great gastro in the area.

Mostly fine. Staff very polite and helpful. Food good. Room clean and on tap tea was welcome! A couple of gripes: Low water pressure to bathroom sink - alslthough shower was fine. More importantly there was a distinct lack of light on path from car park to hotel entrance and at he door entrance, I needed my phone light to see the combination numbers on the door entry system.

Just come back from a 3 nights stay. The negatives were the poor quality sleep on all 3 nights. The mattress was extremely thin and the bed made an awful creaking sound whenever one of us moved. The first night I found a stain on the bed sheet. The bathroom definitely needs an upgrade - water spilling out over the shower tray and onto the floor, extractor fan not working. We did report this to a staff member who was extremely apologetic and said he would look into it. Positives: the food was absolutely lovely. Unfortunately we went down for dinner on the Sunday and they had run out of quite a few items so we left and found another place. We went back for dinner the following night and I can’t fault any of it- it was one of the best meals we’ve eaten. Breakfast was amazing and extremely filling. The staff were all so friendly and Oliver, was such a lovely man and made sure we were happy. Because of the issues with the room and dinner on Sunday, Oliver gave our mains on the house which was very kind of him - we weren’t looking for a freebie but this was very gracious of him. The staff were exceptional and we would go back again….if the beds are replaced.

A lovely overnight stay. Room small and quirky but comfortable bed and although we could hear the people talking in the bar underneath the room it didn’t keep us awake. A lovely evening meal and excellent breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful. A good choice.
