Stayed here a while back whilst on a business trip. The room was huge and I was so impressed with the bed and linen I emailed them when I got home to find out the make. Great bathroom and the little touches like the sweets in the fridge were fab. Ate in the restaurant and quality and portions were great. Staff throughout the hotel were a credit. Will look forward to another stay

Forgotten to write a review here last month right after my visit. Hilton has never disappointed me. Although it was just a short stay for a night, we felt welcomed. Diego was the best of the best in the hotel, he managed to get us checked in within minutes. The rooms were great as well, overlooking the cricket ground. Well maintained throughout the entire property. The only downside is with the bed, it is relatively small compared to other Hilton's King size beds. Don't forget to bring your own slippers as they don't provide with any. It would be best to have some stock there and make it available upon request (maybe at a charge to cover the extra cost?). The staff at the breakfast lounge were great as well, helped me heated up my croissant, which makes it a wonderful day to start with. Will definitely be there again when I visit Manchester or Liverpool.

Hotel staff are great, friendly, professional - with a smile to greet. Ella was on the desk when I arrived, she was already on a phone call but acknowledged me and also let me know that she could start to book me in as she was waiting for the other company to answer, but if necessary would have to pause if the organisation answered. I was perfectly happy with that as at every point she kept me informed and apologised for keeping me waiting - even so, I was booked in and card key issued within 3-4 minutes of my arrival. I was impressed. Paul at the bar is also good - he makes a great latte and engages in conversation when applicable. The rooms are always clean and quiet. Very happy to recommend.

We had read the reviews previously posted after we had booked through Hotels.com and were alarmed that the room we had booked was in ‘The Cottage’. If I could have cancelled at that point I would, however the staff were lovely. Listened to the concerns and we moved to the main hotel. We had a pleasant room, very clean and staff were lovely throughout. Whilst the menu in the bar isn’t as extensive as shown online the food was delicious and we ate there both nights and it was a lovely relaxed atmosphere in there. We did look at the ‘the cottage’ and were glad we didn’t end up there.

Given our purpose and location of hotel, we would stay again.

Booked via Copthorne direct. Decent queue at Check in which is from 2pm, room not ready told to come back at 3. Strangely they wouldn’t take our bags until then? Anyway went out to OT got back at 9:45 tried to get 2 hot drinks from the bar but told machine was off. Room was just ok. Looks like it needs an upgrade. Room was clean enough but the bathroom had several cracked tiles, horrible silicone and an actual chip in the bath that had been ‘painted’. Bed was awful. That mattress had seen some traffic and in desperate need of a changing. Breakfast.. bloody hell where do I start. Waitress at the desk was very pleasant. No cutlery on the table. Several dirty tables waiting to be cleaned away. No plates at the hot food area, then topped up with cold plates once requested. Offer of hot food was poor. Dishes under the lights with very little left. Looked like it had been rattled by a bus tour, this was 8:30. Maids were very pleasant, receptionist upon checking out was also Bert nice. All in all decent staff bang average hotel and amenities. If I had paid £150 for the night then fair enough but it was £300 ..

Reading the previous reviews, it makes me wonder if we stayed at the same hotel! We've just spent two nights here over the Easter weekend. The room was great (booked a superking), but the breakfast was not good at all. On checking in, the reception staff warned us several times that it can get very 'chaotic' at peak times and we should avoid those times. It wasn't the 'chaos' that was the problem, it was a very limited choice of food coupled with poor management. The first morning there was no fruit available apart from some oranges, and on asking for some I was told the fruit compote had run out (this wasn't at the end of the breakfast service either). Eventually some bananas were brought out. On the second morning the fruit compote was actually frozen (I literally had to cut the strawberries with a knife, and my partner couldn't eat his). There are only four hot items served, so on some days there are no eggs because there's eg hash browns instead. The sausages were so awful I didn't eat mine (& I always clear my plate!) On one of the days the croissants had run out, again even though it was nowhere near the end of the breakfast period. Hotel staff are great, friendly, professional - with a smile to greet. Ella was on the desk when I arrived, she was already on a phone call but acknowledged me and also let me know that she could start to book me in as she was waiting for the other company to answer, but if necessary would have to pause if the organisation answered. I was perfectly happy with that as at every point she kept me informed and apologised for keeping me waiting - even so, I was booked in and card key issued within 3-4 minutes of my arrival. I was impressed. Paul at the bar is also good - he makes a great latte and engages in conversation when applicable. The rooms are always clean and quiet. Very happy to recommend.

Reading the previous reviews, it makes me wonder if we stayed at the same hotel! We've just spent two nights here over the Easter weekend. The room was great (booked a superking), but the breakfast was not good at all. On checking in, the reception staff warned us several times that it can get very 'chaotic' at peak times and we should avoid those times. It wasn't the 'chaos' that was the problem, it was a very limited choice of food coupled with poor management. The first morning there was no fruit available apart from some oranges, and on asking for some I was told the fruit compote had run out (this wasn't at the end of the breakfast service either). Eventually some bananas were brought out. On the second morning the fruit compote was actually frozen (I literally had to cut the strawberries with a knife, and my partner couldn't eat his). There are only four hot items served, so on some days there are no eggs because there's eg hash browns instead. The sausages were so awful I didn't eat mine (& I always clear my plate!) On one of the days the croissants had run out, again even though it was nowhere near the end of the breakfast period. The serving staff look overworked and stressed, and I feel very sorry for them as this is clearly not a well-managed hotel.

Very clean well looked after hotel, stayed on Wednesday 21st Sept and I must admit how well the hotel staff handled a big problem on that evening, even though they had to close the bar early, shut the main door and access to the car park. The reason for this was that a group of Travelers decided to take up residence in there car park blocking off the car park and setting up home, caravans, vans, beck chairs letting there dogs run wide. The hotel staff managed the situation very well, manned the car park and access to the hotel all night to protect there guests and there vehicles. WELL DONE TO YOU TO ALL THE STAFF.

I stayed at the Milton last night the 22nd and it was excellent. I had read the reviews and was a bot concerned by them so approached the entrance with caution. Its clear the building used to be an office block and home to the DHSS. I was directed to the hotel reception where the pleasant surprises began clean airy and a very efficient and welcoming receptionist. Then onto the room which medium sized was warm the bed comfortable and the shower powerful . I ate in the bar and had a well cooked meal and a beer . Next morning breakfast was simply incredible value the selection was large the coffee good and the produce used a step up. All the staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful . Its cheap but its great

Forgotten to write a review here last month right after my visit. Hilton has never disappointed me. Although it was just a short stay for a night, we felt welcomed. Diego was the best of the best in the hotel, he managed to get us checked in within minutes. The rooms were great as well, overlooking the cricket ground. Well maintained throughout the entire property. The only downside is with the bed, it is relatively small compared to other Hilton's King size beds. Don't forget to bring your own slippers as they don't provide with any. It would be best to have some stock there and make it available upon request (maybe at a charge to cover the extra cost?). The staff at the breakfast lounge were great as well, helped me heated up my croissant, which makes it a wonderful day to start with. Will definitely be there again when I visit Manchester or Liverpool.

Stayed here a while back whilst on a business trip. The room was huge and I was so impressed with the bed and linen I emailed them when I got home to find out the make. No surprises, no delights. As expected so we booked a practical location, with parking ( didn’t realise overnight fee is £6 as often it’s free at Premier inn for overnight guests) and standard amenities. Bathroom shower curtains had some smell otherwise standard cleanliness. Breakfast a slight miss as most Premier Inn can do a better cooked English full breakfast. Given our purpose and location of hotel, we would stay again.

We had read the reviews previously posted after we had booked through Hotels.com and were alarmed that the room we had booked was in ‘The Cottage’. If I could have cancelled at that point I would, however the staff were lovely. Listened to the concerns and we moved to the main hotel. We had a pleasant room, very clean and staff were lovely throughout. Whilst the menu in the bar isn’t as extensive as shown online the food was delicious and we ate there both nights and it was a lovely relaxed atmosphere in there. We did look at the ‘the cottage’ and were glad we didn’t end up there.
