We had a wonderful stay at La Fontana Hotel in Stresa, Italy. The hotel was clean, nicely decorated, the staff were very nice, and the breakfast was delicious. We had a small apartment just outside the main building, which worked perfectly for the 3 of us and had room for 4. What impressed us the most is the care the staff took. We had an issue with the Italian toll system and Elena took the time to help us fix it on online. If you ever go to Stresa, definitely look no further than La Fontana!

Stayed here 1w. Good location about 15mins gentle walk along the front into town. We had a great view of the lake. Good size rooms. Clean. Fridge and coffee making facilities. Nice breakfasts either in the dining area or on the terrace. Plenty of loungers by pool but not allowed to take your own water bottles-alcohol and soft drinks I can understand they want you to get at their pool bar but water?(although they were kind enough to give us a couple of bottles on our last afternoon whilst waiting to leave for airport). Friendly helpful staff and a parting gift of a bottle of fizz!

The hotel is very nice with a walking distance of about 10 minutes to the centre. The breakfast included e.g scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, bread and yogurt. The double room was beautiful with a large terrace with view of the lake Maggiore. The air conditioning was almost ok, with limited temperature. The pool area was quiet and still.

This was our second visit to this hotel, and we had enjoyed our first stay so much that part of our reason for returning to Stresa was to repeat it. We had a wonderful room with a spacious balcony overlooking gorgeous Lago Maggiore, very clean and quiet. The hotel is directly on the lake, within easy walking distance to the ferry to the Borromean islands. But what we really like about this hotel is the intimate family atmosphere. The multilingual staff was extremely kind and helpful and really made us feel like their personal guests. Overall, this is the kind of European travel experience that you always hope to find but so rarely can.

This hotel is conveniently located by the lake, between downtown core and Piazzale Lido, where you can take the boat rides to all the islands. There are two buildings, with a nice swimming pool between them and a large well-manicured garden in front. All rooms we stayed were very clean. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast has very good selection and is definitely one of the highlight for me . Overall our stay was a nice one and I would recommend it for sure.

A well-run and very modern hotel which invests in the best facilities for the comfort of its guests. Free hotel parking (including electric point) and good WIFI this establishment looks after its guests, especially at breakfast time. A good variety of quality products is available and it does not feel packed out either. My only complaint was the air-con which was too meek and mild for the soaring temperatures outside (35°). The restaurants and ferry service to the islands are only a 15 min walk away.

We had a very pleasant 3 day and night stay at this hotel. This hotel is going through a renovation so it will continue to evolve. In terms of the good points, the location is fantastic right on the Stresa promenade where you can easily take the ferry to the Borromean islands. Isola Bella is very close. There are so many lovely restaurants and cafes to chose from in Stresa, all walkable from this hotel. The room was large and clean but you could see signs of that renovation that is on going. The host and hostess are wonderful people. The breakfast was good. Not a lot of hot food but the cookies were delicious. There is ample parking in the hotel as well. All in all a good experience at a relatively inexpensive hotel that met out needs.
