Room was really lovely, very clean and cosy with great lighting - bed & pillows were comfortable - fresh milk provided for tea in room. Breakfast was just superb - the attention to detail of everything on the table - and quality. We loved our stay here - hosts are great friendly people and think of everything a guest might need. Would 110% recommend -& go back in an instant!

Far exceeded expectations on every level. Perfect location for early morning ferry connection, warm welcome on arrival, helpful advice on eating out, very quiet restful sleep and thats before talking about the rooms. I say rooms as it feels like a suite, spacious lounge with everything catered for, really nice way to relax and start a trip. Bed was amazing, great sleep and very comfortable. All the ‘extras’ like bathrobe, slippers, good quality coffee, drinks, water, biscuits. I was in need of magnifying mirror, looked around and there it was. Every detail thought of. Plenty sockets and USB connections and near the bed and wifi connection worked well. If i had to say any possible considerations and just more of a nice to have as a female solo traveller: 1. a long mirror would have been good, possibly there was one and I just missed it. 2. Hotel like security bolt at door would be nice to have. 3. The slab pathway to car is a little narrow with large suitcase and hard to pull large case on gravel Fantastic place and my only choice now for ferry connections.

This is an absolutely wonderful place to stay with owners who are personable, friendly and helpful with the added bonus for being convenient for the ferry. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and well thought out. The breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. Once again, a lovely accommodation with great hosts. Thank you.

Immaculately clean rooms. Rooms are large like a small suite. Fantastic service by the owners. Nice views across the loch. Good quality breakfast with lots of choice. Five minutes from both ferry terminals. Would be a good base to explore the local area. Highly recommended.

Over a few years I have used Rhin's before taking the ferry, as always, the welcome is friendly and sincere. The bedrooms are on par with 4- or 5-star hotels, comfortable but with individuality. As I travel frequently, I am looking for these gems, a place that feels like home.

A 4 star hotel with 5 star service. We had booked ahead to get a good jump on the nearby ferry back home to Ireland the next day. After a very disappointing experience in Edinburgh the night before, we had our faith in Scottish hospitality well and truly redeemed. What a special place the Rhins is. It may have looked functional and plain on the outside but what a gem we found on the inside. Met by our hosts at reception, we were treated with the greatest of courtesy and genuine interest. Immediately we were upgraded to their very best suite which we gladly accepted. WOW!! Outstanding in taste, quality and comfort. Decor, facilities, everything we could have wished for. They also gave us a great recommendation for eating out that evening. Btw big shout out to Henry's Bay House Restaurant just a few minutes drive towards Stranraer (top food and service to match our accommodation) Had the best sleep of our trip that night and a breakfast fit for a king (and queen) the next morning to send us on our way. Stunning, convenient and very repeatable. Top marks Rhins of Galloway.

Rhins of Galloway is a fantastic place and so convenient for the ferry port. We stayed for 2 nights, Friday and Tuesday either side of a trip to Ireland. The owners are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Suite 1 is a large bedroom, good sized lounge and a well appointed shower room. It was so comfortable. The whole place is spotless. I've stayed in some quite high end places in my time and none were cleaner than Rhins. The linen is very good quality, the towels are thick and fluffy, they even put out a little pair of scissors to make it easier to open the tea /coffee bags. They supply you with a flask of milk on arrival so you don't have to put up with those awful pots of UHT. Our breakfast was absolutely delicious. Good quality produce is everything and it was cooked to perfection. There's good menu choices plus all the other things you would expect like cereal, toast, fruit, yoghurt, juices. The price of the stay is very competitive and for what you get they could easily charge more. I really don't think I can say enough about Rhins. I have no hesitation in recommending it.

I don't often do reviews but making an exception in this case. This was the second time we have stayed at Rhins of Galloway, this time in the Garden Room for four nights. Cannot fault it! Each time we had beautifully clean, roomy and comfortable accommodation. I would call it five star! The owners were brilliant and very friendly. Nice touches like fresh milk for the room and nothing too much trouble. Very good cooked breakfast with lots of choice. The previous time we left a phone charger there and it arrived at home by post shortly after we got back. The place is very handy for the Belfast ferries which are just up the road (not that we used them but mentioning for anyone wanting to) We go to visit friends and hope to go again next spring.
