Eilert Smith Hotel

Hanne and team were unbelievable. Superb service from the moment we arrived until our check out. Hanne went above and beyond in so many ways!! Literally upon our arrival they opened the front door to the hotel and greeted our family!! Hanne and all the other employees were on top of their game. We were very impressed with their attention to every detail during our stay. The restaurant Re-Naa (if you can get a reservation) will not disappoint !!! 3 Michelin Stars!!

Absolutely one of the most pleasant stays we’ve had and we have travelled extensively many places in the world for 30 years. Every staff member we came in contact with was just outstanding. The rooms were modern, comfortable and luxurious. The addition of Re-NAA and that incredible dining experience made it a very memorable trip for us. We wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else in Stavanger.

jkjk (regarding the title), but those robes were amazing! honestly, everything about this hotel was amazing - from the service and staff to one of the best breakfasts i've ever had at a hotel (and that is saying a lot). if you have the opportunity to stay here, i would very highly recommend that you do

The most fantastic suite, with the best service ever! The strikingly designed Eilert Smith Hotel in downtown Stavanger is worth any travel. Close to beautiful and spectacular nature experiences like the Lysefjord and Pulpit Rock, and with the 3-star Michelin restaurant Re-naa located on 1st floor. The Eilert Smith Team made our stay a lifetime remembaring.

We are super lucky to have stayed in some wonderful hotels in the world, but Eilert Smith is absolutely up there with the best. The attention to detail is phenomenal, the staff (all the Hanne’s!) were incredibly warm and kind and our room was heavenly. We were served the most delicious breakfast every morning from the comfort of our suite, which overlooked the harbour of Stavanger. Little things, such as the complimentary mini bar, games for the children in the bedroom, lovely Malin and Goetz toiletries and a brilliantly easy access system to the hotel and room made for a really memorable stay. It was POURING when we left and we would no doubt have been soaked on the way to the airport bus. As a final gesture of kindness and thoughtfulness, Hanne gave us two umbrellas - even though we wouldn’t have been able to give them back. What incredible service! Normally a hotel is just a base for us when we are away for the weekend, somewhere to sleep and rest after exploring, but the gorgeous 12 bedroom Eilert Smith feels like the most perfect sanctuary - so much so that I’d go back to Stavanger just to spend a whole weekend in our lovely home from home! Stayed at EILERT SMITH in Stavanger for 3 nights kicking off our Norway hiking trip (Pulpit rock & Kjeragbolten). TL;DR - wonderful hotel with exceptional service. A few more specifics below: Service: The staff team went above and beyond making sure we had a pleasant stay; checking when we wanted our meals, helping out with bookings/reservations, and giving useful information about the city and local hikes. The more you can express what you are looking for during the stay and how they can help, the better your stay will be! Food: We originally booked this hotel hoping to have dinner at Renaa, but unfortunately they were on vacation during our stay. However we got to have breakfast & a picnic basket prepared by Renaa that did not disappoint! The picnic basket included a few pastries and sandwiches, and it's a hearty meal for two. Location: The hotel has a great central location with lots of shops and restaurants around. It's 45min to Pulpit rock & 2.5hrs to Kjeragbolten. Room: We received a complementary upgrade to a sea-facing suite, which was very roomy and thoughtfully decorated. I really appreciated the local beers (stocked complementary everyday) that were perfect cooldown drinks after long activity days. Parking: 2hr paid parking in front of the hotel (8am-8pm) and 24hr garage paid parking 5-8min both east and west of the hotel.

We loved: the service was 10/10. They went all their way for us. We also loved the room with a wonderful bed, free mini-bar and heated toilet. The materials used are also just amazingly beautiful. What could be better: -some fruits , home made jam or berries -and a bit more bread for breakfast. It was soo good, but a bit on the small side. -Also the light kept turning it self on during the night if we moved. Took a while (and several wakings) before we got that fixed. -a lounge or area to hang or meet up with other guests (family). There is noone when the resturanr is closed.

What a magical stay! My only regret is that we sadly only had an overnight here. The most comfortable night's sleep and a beautiful breakfast! I was traveling with my adult daughter, who happens to be Vegan. I had made this known to the staff when booking our stay and we were blown away by the phenomenal breakfast that was created just for her. Although their restaurant was fully booked for dinner, Iris made a reservation for us at Bellies (an exceptional vegan restaurant in Stavanger) and made everything about our stay perfect! Next time, I will be sure to stay longer and secure a dinner reservations at Renaa!

Truly special hotel experience where the staff including Hanne, Helle and housekeeping lady all went well beyond expectations to help make our stay and experience in the city very special. They were super responsive and hotel decoration and ambience is exceptional!
