Gondwana Kalahari Farmhouse

Really a nice place! Amazing self-sufficient farm activities to feed the guests and guests at other lodges. The staff are friendly and efficient. Tonight, the air is warm and the palm leaves are waving with the wind. Thank you, I will be back!

Stayed on our way back to Windhoek. Campsite is ok. Abolitions are clean, nicely done, but the view onto a partially used farm field and some back of buildings isn’t nice. We booked into eat as a treat for our last night. The food wasn’t amazing and one of our party was vegetarian so before booking for dinner, which turned out to be a buffet, we asked if there were vegetarian options, and were told there were. This turned out to be tomato soup, some dried wraps with vegetables, rice with peas, mashed potatoes and boiled veg - really disappointing for the price, which was actually our most expensive meal of the trip. There were three choices of meat so meat eaters were probably happier. Service was good, and drinking wine and sitting outside was nice. I think the bungalows looked nice and there is a shop with interesting curios.

We enjoyed the Farmhouse Tour very much. It was a great start of our journey in Namibia.

Oasis just outside Mariental We spend one night at The Kalahari Farmhouse part of the Gondwana Loge Group. We were pleasantly surprised. Cottages are cosy with a fireplace for those chilly winter nights. Pool is inviting clean and refreshing. The staff were friendly and helpful. The dinner was delicious local Fare and very generous portions. Can definitely recommend this little gem Off the main road

We were greeted with incredibly unfriendly staff, and the campsite is not what was pictured in the advertising, the campsite looks over a barren plowed area amd right on the roadside. We left immediately after checking in and went straight to the Anib lodge where we received much better value for money as well as greeted by friendlier and more helpful staff members.

If you want to experience and enjoy real farm life on a typical Kalahari farm, then this is the place to be! The farm is very scenic with the typical Kalahari red dunes and many, many majestic camelthorn trees. The accommodation is in well-equipped self-catering rooms, very clean and tidy, next to a huge lawn and garden, so also great for outdoor eating eg Braais (BBQ). Dankie and Mariaan are easy-going and very accommodating hosts, always trying to fulfil every wish of their guests. Can highly recommend this guest farm, even if it is for only an overnight stop, but would definitely recommend a longer stay in order to experience the farm life.
