Edson Hill - A Distinctive Country Inn

This quaint property sits on Edson Hill, a short distance from Stowe. Our little villa was inviting, comfortable and extremely clean—a factor that weighs heavily for us. Dining in the main building on the patio, we enjoyed the peak fall colors of fall that surround the pool (closed for season) and pond. The food was well prepared with a complementary breakfast each morning. Our room had a fireplace and soaking tub, with excellent view of the forest behind and the property grounds in front. This was an absolutely perfect place to visit. Thank you.

What a wonderful experience to stay at Edson Hill! We came on a recommended and loved it! Our room was just so enjoyable with a farmhouse feel, wood burning fireplaces and exquisite comfort touches. Thank you for creating such a beautiful place for people to enjoy!

Charming place. Others also told us post covid the quality has gone down. Brussel sprouts were drowning in oil, charred and slightly sweet. Cauliflower was decent. Hamburgers were over cooked and dry. Rarely eaten a burger we didn't like. Strangely they didn't ask how we wanted our burger cooked. Venesen was good but too charred. Desert creme brulee and chocolate cake were both pretty good.

Edson Hill was expensive but well managed and the facilities were top notch. We enjoyed ourselves immensley and the value was good and he grounds were well maintained. Access to von Trapp Lodge/hiking, x-country skiing, Mt. Mansfield, and in the summer close to lots of water spots and of course a thousand great hikes. The views entering and leaving were some of the best.

Not impressed with the country club restaurant menu. My husband took me here and I reluctantly ordered the scallops which were over cooked and better visually than they were flavorful. My server was inattentive and seemed more focused on making us pay for the most expensive items. The room was overpriced, and the front desk was almost impossible to get a hold of on the first try. Would not recommend.

I did not want to leave Edson Hill. The room was spacious and so quiet. There was a built in fireplace and large tub with a view of the trees and hillside behind the resort. The breakfast and dinner was wonderful. Edson Hill was a bit of a splurge but very worth it! We would definitely stay again!

Beautiful property, with well-maintained and CLEAN (rare to find nowadays) accommodations. We stayed in one of the separate cottages which are very quiet and gorgeously appointed. Our room had brand-new AC and a gas fireplace with radiant-heated floors in the bathroom, the beds were very luxurious and comfortable. Love that they provided reverse-osmosis filtered water cartons in the rooms (no PFAs!) The restaurant had a lot of farm to table offerings, very fresh and nutritious food in large portions, with gorgeous views. The staff was very attentive and had thought of many comforts for guests, which is rare at many hotels nowadays. The only negative I would say is that the pool didn't have lights around it at night and wasn't heated. Overall this was such a relaxing, beautiful place to stay and actually a great value. Cost for our separate cottage room was the same per night cost as nearby tired hotels like the Lodge at Spruce Peak in Stowe (since they don't charge resort fees here, and delicious breakfast is included in the cost as well here which is rare). Perfect place for couples to stay overnight.

We just spent two nights at Edson Hill and it was amazing! Charming little hotel , only 22 rooms, in a stunning setting. The room was perfect, spacious, modern, amazing comfortable bed and bedding, great AC and wifi. Working fireplace in the room. The bathroom was fabulous too, great large shower with good pressure. The only slight criticism was that the size of the TV in corner was a bit small so it was difficult to watch from the bed. We also ate at the restaurant, had breakfast which was included with the room twice, and one dinner. The restaurant is top notch, really delicious food and amazing service. Best Brussels sprouts I’ve ever had! The only area for improvement was that there was no snack type food served at the Taverne. We went for a drink after round of golf, and there was nothing to eat. They only offered the regular dinner menu. We wanted some crudités, or chicken wings, or something light to snack on, but they had no options and didn’t seem willing to offer us anything. Overall Edson is the perfect place to stay in Stowe and we look forward to going back.

We were welcomed with a warm, gracious greeting, and led to a table for two. There was enough room between tables to allow for quiet conversation. Our server was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Our drinks came quickly, and our meal soon after. it was delicious, and unhurried....we had a most delightful time.
