Great location to visit Cotswold villages. The hotel feels unique to us and amenities are good too. We enjoyed the dinner and breakfast at the restaurant!

Great location Parking at rear of hotel although not obvious where access to car park is. Lovely cosy and clean room. Grady value for money. Only criticism is there was a very limited menu choice. Lovely breakfast great quality Can’t fault the service and friendliness of the staff. Will book again but probably eat somewhere else due to limited choice

The service at the reception as well as the restaurant is excellent. The room is clean and come with coffee machine which is a bonus. The bed is a bit soft for me. The only issue I have is the intermittent water dripping noise from the ceiling of the room (I stayed in room 15) which has affected my sleep. As the room was really really quiet, the dripping noise is quite obvious. I hope it just happened to me.

Loved this quaint little place. Rooms were very well designed given the limited space.

This town was outside our plan and gave us an unexpected surprise. It is a beautiful town, don’t miss it. The hotel room is not big, and there is free parking in the yard behind the hotel. The bathroom is a bit short. My husband is 189cm tall and has to lower his head and cannot stand up straight. Our room was on the second floor and there was no elevator. Fortunately, we didn't have to carry too many things up the stairs when we drove. The soundproofing is not very good, you can hear the conversation next door. The breakfast was great and the restaurant manager was very welcoming! Will go here next time.

Great place to stay for touring in the Cotswolds, clean comfortable hotel with good food great staff especially Scott he really made our trip. There’s a very good outdoor space for socialising in the good weather,Hotel could do with a bit of updating for next season.

Beautiful accommodation. Great location. Hotel was lovely, very popular, good food and drinks. Rooms were amazing, clean and comfortable. Shower was to die for. Hotel had everything you need and if forgotten something the staff were more than happy to help! Very flexible with timings of coming back to the hotel as you are given a key. Nice touch leaving cookies for us from the chef in the room. Will definitely return! Thank you
Response from Property: Renee D, we strive for 100% satisfaction, and it is great to see you had such a positive experience at The Sheep Hotel. Thank you, and have a fantastic day!

Just returned from a 3 night stay in Room 2 at this lovely hotel. Ideal location in the centre with a car park. The village is buzzing in the day but pretty quiet in the evenings, and by 9:30 pm there is barely a soul around, and only a small handful of people in the pubs - perfect for us as we were looking for a relaxing break. Room was large, cosy and nicely decorated. Maybe an armchair would add to the comfort. The bathroom was a good size with a shower cubicle and a bath. The only time we heard other guests was when they walked past our door or walked up/down the stairs near our room - otherwise we didn’t hear anything. The room was quite warm, so the addition of a fan was appreciated. We had dinner in the hotel on all 3 nights - staff went out of their way to find us a table as we hadn’t booked on the first night. Wide choice of main courses - all a good size and mostly tasty. The Fisherman’s pie wasn’t the best - not enough fish and prawns were a bit tough. Otherwise we enjoyed all the meals we had, including starters and desserts. We would thoroughly recommend the Hoisin & Sweet Chilli Pork Riblets as a starter. A good choice of breakfast - service was quick and food was hot. The staff we met on reception, at breakfast and at dinner were all really friendly and helpful. Our room and the hotel/restaurant in general were clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Easy to find. Ample free parking. Very friendly and helpful staff in all areas of the Hotel. Great location in Sheep Street. Great restaurant also very popular with non-residents so be sure to book a time for the evening. We had double room facing the village square, old building so the room was small & cosy as described but lovely, quaint & clean with exposed brick walls . Every day complimentary fresh hot cookies are delivered to your room along with bottles of spring water. There’s Nespresso coffee machine and tea making facilities, iron & hairdryer. No air-con but electric fan provided. Great outdoor beer garden. Lovely breakfast consisting of part buffet but also hot food cooked to order off the menu. We took a glorious 4 mile walk to Bourton-on-the-water stopping in Lower Slaughter en route. Would definitely recommend choosing this Hotel in beautiful Stow-on-the-wold.
Response from Property: Lynnecf41, we're so glad that we were able to go above and beyond your expectations! We are thrilled to hear you had a great walk and enjoyed the local offerings. Please feel free to reach out if your looking for a return visit. We have plenty of events and activities coming up for the autumnal season.

We had an evening meal here. The food was delightful, a varied menu, our waitress was very friendly. The decor was very tasteful, seating comfortable. The place had a good vibe, dogs welcome too. Good value, I would definitely recommend a visit, book before to avoid disappointment.
Response from Property: Sally W, we are so happy to read such a great review about The Sheep! We sincerely thank you for the positive review, and look forward to seeing you again soon!

Stayed here for 2 nights. Room ok, food ok but not enough staff at breakfast. The first morning we were seated and then ignored, the Canadian waiter preferred to serve others who came in after us. When pointed out to him he became abrupt and denied it. Breakfast on second morning better but we still waited a long time for service. Cooked breakfast ok but please don’t call that bacon, it’s way overcooked and tough. Evening meal last night was lovely, and more staff serving. Just need more staff at breakfast.
