Worst value for money hotel by a long way. Been in far better for far less. 3 nights in a tiny single room with a single bed worked out at £200 per night B&B in August, £200 for a single room - extortionate. This is a 3 star hotel, I have stayed in great 4 star hotels in London in July and August for less. Ate at hotel on first night, basic (and small portion of pasta and sauce - almost £20), asked if I could have some chicken added which I would pay for, a resounding "no, chef cooks ONLY what is on the menu". Zero atmosphere in dining room, staff were efficient but no interaction. Ate elsewhere on the other nights. Breakfast was fine, decent choice and well cooked. Room itself was small, impossible to fill kettle from bathroom tap. Towel was left on floor to be replaced, came back at night to find it draped over side of bath, used milk and sugar for tea, not replaced. View from room was into an area used as dumping ground. Nothing in the immediate area, 20 minute walk to town. Oh, and sort your (hardly) revolving door, only way in and the middle is caked in thick gunk and the door hardly turns, an elderly guest was literally stuck as she did not have the strength to push. Not sure if this is the norm in the "summer" months ie hike prices up to as high as possible and get as much money as you can - doesn't work as I would 100% not stay here again. Disappointing stay. And the fact they do not have the courtesy to respond or acknowledge reviews speaks volumes.

Our last stage on our two week trip to Skye & Outer Hebrides, at last a proper modern hotel! Good room well furnished with comfortable bed & Arran Aromatics toiletries in the modern bathroom. We ate one night in The Cleaver Restaurant. Good service and food, I loved the seafood risotto with langoustines. Good Gin & Whisky bar for pre & post dinner tipples! Breakfast on our first morning was excellent but we had an early start for the 0700 ferry on the second morning and were too early even for the 0500 Continental breakfast service!

Stayed here for 2 nights while on the Isle of Lewis and Harris. Comfy rooms, with almost everything you would expect. Staff very friendly and helpful and full of knowledge. Breakfasts were good each day, and they even packed breakfast for our very early departure the next morning. Our group had 2 dinners here, and they were lovely too. Full credit to Marcus for being everywhere all at once and being so hospitable, and for the chap on night duty who used to be a pedal-loom weaver and could tell us more about the process. The only complaint was the shower over the tub -- the drop from the floor of the bath to the floor of the bathroom was about 8 inches and there are NO grab rails that could be called useful when getting out of a shower when dripping wet. Very dangerous. Heated towel rail was perfect for drying socks and undies!

We spent two nights here as part of a coach trip. Our room was large and tastefully decorated in muted heather colours which fit perfectly with the surroundings. The communal areas were all nicely done. The food there was not quite as good as other hotels that we stayed at but were good enough. For example, the haddock mornay I had one night was overcooked and consequently quite dry.

Nice for a bath to be allocated in room for single person at the end a day touring was great to find water always hot. Room was nice and warm. The hotel is a short distance from the town and castle and it is easy to look round both the islands of Lewis and Harris. The only thing that was a concern was how hot the food was, our company took this up with the hotel as food came on plates which were not even warm. Toast was on the tables before we arrived so by the time we had been and got something from the buffet it was stone cold. Much better to have brought it a bit later hot and stagger just one rack at a time, and then bring more round when people start eating the fried brekfast.

I like this hotel very much. It is clean and comfortable, and the staff go out of their way to be helpful, friendly and pleasant. The food is very good. My room was comfortable and quiet. The public rooms are well decorated and well appointed. May I suggest that Room 47 has a stool placed in front of the vanity unit. I look forward to staying at the Cabarfeidh again.

Been on the to-do list for a while - eat at the Caber. Staff - excellent. Young, informed, just really good. Menu - a good range with very clear allergens listed. Drinks - good cocktails, decent wine list. Food - really good. The chocolate sister was smazing. Atmosphere - despite being quite empty was good.

We were in a party and had to be moved to this hotel. The staff were excellent . We were given 2 of the newer rooms which were clean, tidy and fresh. The staff were really helpful, thoughtful and accommodating.
