Friendly staff. The room was very comfortable and had a homey feel. Beds and pillows were comfortable with clean linen. Bathroom was clean with fluffy towels. There was a tub and separate shower with hot water. A/C worked well. Internet was fair only but to be upgraded soon. Beautiful landscaping and fountain. No fridge. Has TV. Has a desk. Verandah with chairs. Lovely included Buffet Breakfast with hot and cold dishes. Next door to a 60’s theme restaurant. Onsite microbrewery. 2 shops nearby. Segway and electric bicycle rental across the street.

This review is for food. We had dinner here and were taken in by the beautiful surrounds and manicured gardens. Service was average but acceptable. We ordered the Karoo lamb, which I had been dying to try. Unfortunately, it came lathered in a sickly sweet sauce - not stated on the menu that is would be basted! The lamb was ruined. Even though the meat was done, it wasn’t crispy at all. It was supposed to be served with garlic butter potatoes. Upon further inquiry, this was going to be mash. When the bread came out, we saw it was served with a non-butter spread. We then checked if the mash was definitely made with butter and - to their credit - they showed us what they use and it was also some seed oil derivative with butter-taste. So we changed to a side salad instead of potatoes, which was nice. Overall, food was poor, service average, location stunning, prices on the high side for SA - but it is the garden route and we have found that to be expected. I want to give it zero for food, but am including ambiance in the rating.

We spent two nights, accompanied by an elderly person. The rooms are modern and comfortable and the gardens are well maintained. We appreciated the food served at the restaurants and the friendliness of the staff who looked after us well. Plenty to do in the area (Big Tree, Wolf Sanctuary, adventure through the forest).

When we arrived I would say the greeting was cold . When asked to be shown our room we only got pointed directions . When asked for assistance with baggage they didn't want to know. The room was tiny compared to all the other locations we had stayed in on our garden route golden tour the bathroom has a tin roof the the bed headboard is corporate tin along with Plastic chairs and a tiny bed. I then get an industrial vibe theme but it don't work. We googled the rooms prior going and on their site there is no mention or photos of the Barn rooms . Had we seen we would have not booked . Later a group arrived and all staff helped transfer their baggage. Very dissatisfied and I felt they have also mislead Trialfinders our tour organiser . The suites around the village green look so much better than ours all with soft seating inside and out

The rooms are clean and adequate. The inn itself is charming. But the 2 issues I have is the wifi is basically non existent and the do not cater for gluten and lactose intolerant. I could not eat dinner at the hunters restaurant because there was no choice for me. They only have gluten free rolls for a burger but don’t eat meat. Not a very well thought of menu. Go prepared if you have dietary requirements.

It is the second time we have visited the inn. Once again we enjoyed the stay . The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had dinner at the pub, great service and great food . Our room was clean and very comfortable. At breakfast the staff were very attentive and the buffet was excellent. Will definitely visit again.
