Premier Inn Stoke/Trentham Gardens

A decent hotel that is more than comfortable for a night or two while in the area. Bedroom was well equipped, comfortable bed and additional pillows available if you needed them. Staff were mostly friendly. Service at breakfast was the only real let down here.

Newly refurbished rooms were a total disappointment. The bathroom, looks great, but the flush mechanism is now behind the toilet seat, not off to the side, the toilet rolls are now on a rickety holder, and are so thin, so narrow and of inappropriate quality. The towel rail may be OK for single occupancy, but not for two bath towels and a hand towel. The Vanity area has halved in size (it was never big) and now the hair dryer is above the shelf, reducing the useable space even further. There is now not room to use straighteners or place a makeup bag in a convenient place to use in front of the mirror, though, at last a stool is provided. The hanging area in the room is more or less non existent, the new unit, is now mainly a metal frame, with a couple of shelves taken up by a fridge, kettle and coffee machine. There is no way you could hang anything more than a shirt in the space, and then if you use the coffee machine, they would stink of coffee. The bed was OK, but not as good as the Hypnos mattresses they used to have. The restaurant for dinner, was shambolic, 30 mins to get a drink, more than an hour to get food, tables not cleared, food poor. In the morning we got a refund for breakfast, as after standing for 15 minutes with no acknowledgment and the palce again a shambles, we decided to leave.

Rooms lovely we was on first floor looked newly refurbished. Everywhere beautifully clean. Staff very friendly good value for money. Food very good Excellent night sleep. Excellent for shopping and garden centre. We are going to book for Xmas Market.

On arrival the staff were very pleasant and speedily processed. The room was excellent except for the 19 degree heat which was stifling. The Aircon wouldn't go any lower so opened the window which allowed the traffic noise in. On our return from our wonderful evening we found inconsiderate people parked in the disabled spaces and as my wife is disabled she had to struggle to the reception where disappointment number two was. We turned the corner to be presented with a man urinating against the sign and then returning to the bar area. the thing I found strange is that he had travelled further to urinate outside. I would also point out that there was only one female member of staff covering the bar and reception. On departure there wasn't any staff to speak to so here I am 🤬

Would have been good however a flashing green light kept us awake all night. Couldn’t find staff to help so got a dreadful nights sleep. Other than that we would have had a good stay but unfortunately with zero sleep this coloured our whole experience
