Parking is plenty and it’s free. We are in room 6 and I thought the size is alright with table to work and a coffee and tea making facilities Big bright bathroom .

The 3 of us popped in for lunch 😋 .New owners Katie & Brian & Staff are doing an excellent job of turning this place around along with the lovely young ladies behind the bar & on waitress service, kayleigh , Kirsty & Steph. 2 of us had the trio of meat & 1 roasted beef with all the trimmings. Homemade Yorkshire pudding s & handmade roast potatoes. Followed by delicious desserts see photos. Will highly recommend to our clients & family & friends

Unable to book via their link due to our large party, which we understood. However, calls wouldn’t connect for two days (an issue others had noted on social media but comments not replied to), and Facebook messages were read but ignored. We had to visit the venue in person to book, and no explanation was given for the communication issues. We sent our pre-orders a week in advance via email, but received a call two days before the event saying they hadn't received them. Despite promising to check and call back, no one did. We had to follow up ourselves. On the day, we turned up with banners and balloons, staff seemed unsure where to seat our party of 18. The manager eventually offered the private room, but it was rushed and disorganised getting set up. Sadly, the food was very poor, both in quality and portion size. We won’t return for food again. We were really hopeful after their relaunch and social media presence, but the overall experience fell flat due to poor communication, disorganisation, and underwhelming food.

Friends visiting from Australia we booked all the rooms for an overnight stay. We arrived Sunday afternoon and had a couple of drinks until everyone arrived. The beers and wines were quite extensive and no problem with opening a tab as we were staying for the night. Because it was Sunday the meal was Sunday roast choice of three meats or all. There is also a vegetarian option. The food was served hot and portions were more than adequate. We could have had puddings but we were too full for that. As there were twelve of us we were given a large table in the dining room as the bar got very busy, The children played board games and we caught up on thirty years of memories. That's where we stopped before going to bed. It was a hot day so the fans in the rooms was more than welcome. ( nice touch ). The room we had was perfect clean, and comfy, with flat screen tv, tea, coffee, biscuits. The breakfast menu was very extensive and again served hot and more than enough. The gardens looked were well thought out with terraced area covered party area and large lawn with seating as it had all been refurbished there was no expense spared. The staff were smart and attentive and had eyes on everything . The food menu catered for every taste and diet and was well presented and not expensive. All in all a good spot to meet.

We stayed in this lovely hotel recently when we were visiting for a family party. Warm welcome, lovely room and breakfast. Huge beer garden that we only had time for 1 quick drink. Everything needed was in the room, attention to detail is so thoughtful throughout the building. Little gem of a place, will definitely be back.

Just turned up as a family of 4, to be told that they were only honouring bookings. The place was empty, no mention on socials giving a heads up before they made the effort to come and support the business. Still taking online bookings, so a very strange strategy for a business trying to win back customers.

Visited for the first time since it has been taken over. It was a warm day so we sat outside. The outdoor area is beautiful and reminded me of being on holiday. There was 2 members of staff working. The young girl behind the bar was also waitressing. I'm presuming she is 18 or over as she was serving on her own. Unfortunately you could tell she didn't want to be there and wasn't very friendly. Considering it's only recently opened I'd have expected a more welcoming approach on arrival. There was also an older lady working who was lovely. Chatty, friendly and helpful. Perhaps there was a difference in levels of experience or she was just having a bad day. We opted for the meal and a drink for £11. Although our son is only 8 he loves his food so we all got the deal. When it first arrived we were disappointed with the way the food looked. It was served upon a side plate, which gives you an idea of how small the portions are. My husband got the burger, which he said was good quality and tasty. However, it came with around 10 chips and no other sides. Myself and my son got the fish and chips. Again the food was delicious and fresh but we both cleared the plate as the portion was that of a child's meal. I understand the cost of food at the minute is high but I would prefer to pay more, say £15 and get a proper adults portion. Giving them the benefit of the doubt I've mentioned we could try it again without using the deal. However my husband has spoken to numerous people that have said that the main meals are also a small portion so he isn't keen. If the portion sizes were reconsidered and food was served on a dinner plate we would definitely be back as it's our local.

Tried the meal & a drink £11. Served small meal on a sideplate. Also, the offer was supposed to include a cask beer, but that was refused If you want a meal & a drink, try the Blue Bell at Eaglescliffe. Much more for £11 ( weekdays only )

I have lived in the area for over 25 years but had only been to the Parkwood a couple of times. I had heard it had new owners, it was a glorious sunny and warm night so decided to try it out for evening meal. I’m glad I did. Lovely large outdoor space and delicious food. I had beetroot falafel with hummus and then trulli pasta. Sat in the sun with a glass of wine- perfect. Will definitely be back. Was lovely to see the place busy with families, couples and dogs.
