My husband and I and our two Italian Spinone spent a very relaxing day - our dogs were made to feel very welcome with beds provided beside our table whilst enjoying our stunning dinner. The garden room was very comfortable and had the weather been warmer we would have taken advantage of the patio area outside our room . Breakfast was equally good and service was exceptional. We will certificate be returning

A very nice hotel in this lovely small town on the River Test. The hotel has been renovated to a very high standard. It's quirky layout, lovely gardens and ample parking makes it a great place for a night away. The town has lots of boutique shops and nice walks along the chalk streams. (I'm not a fisherman but the town is apparently the world centre of chalk stream fishing, and has at least two fishing tackle shops.) The bedroom we had, overlooking the high street, was very comfortable: comfy bed, well appointed bathroom, windows that opened (!). We had a good supper and breakfast. The staff were charming. Thanks to the extremely helpful receptionist and Jack in the bar.

Met up with 2 of my friends today & needed a venue which was in easy access for us all. Found this gem. Walked into the foyer to smiling faces & a very welcome Earl grey tea as I waited for my friends to arrive. We were then taken to our table where the staff were amazing, menu great & quality of food awesome - wonderful to find such a beautiful quality venue with outstanding staff. Will definitely return - thank you for such a lovely afternoon

We stayed in the Hayloft Suite for 2 nights and had a very relaxing stay..we only ate breakfast at the hotel and it was lovely.. great choice and the cooked breakfast was very nice.. the courtyard garden was well kept and I’m sure is amazing in the summer! The staff were very helpful and friendly and the location is great for exploring the local area.. car parking can be tricky as the village is clearly popular.. will go again when it’s warmer

We stayed at the Grosvenor for 2 nights in a garden room. The decor was lovely and the room very comfortable and quiet. I didn’t realise not all garden rooms had baths so I would request one next time. We had dinner on the first night which was fantastic, so much great choice on the menu and we all enjoyed what we had. The service here is really good, everyone we encountered was super friendly and helpful. We wish it could have been sunny so we could make the most of the gorgeous garden, but that’s a good reason to go back!

This is a fantastic hotel with a high level of sevice.Nothing seems to be too much trouble. The staff are absolutely charming and go out of their way to make your visit special.I was in a garden room which was brilliant in the summer with your own little patio with table and chairs. The room is a decent size with views over a beautiful garden. The en suite had a large walk in shower which was great. We had dinner in the hotel twice and both times were excellent. As it was hot weather we had dinner in the walled garden which was lovely. The food is a very high standard. There is plenty of parking with a car park to the rear and more to the front of the hotel. It is right in the lovely village of Stockbridge.I couldn’t fault the hotel and hope to come back again.

This is a very well appointed hotel. The outdoor property is attractive. It is absolutely not a 5 star hotel nor a luxury hotel. In fact it is very underwhelming. We arrived at the front desk, with severe paint chipping on the wood trim, where the staff person was checking her screen and said. ‘I’ll be with you in a moment I just need to finish what I am doing here’ She then showed us to our room, a garden room. There was no bath, no plush robes, no iron or ironing board and no small fridge. Also no phone to call to ask for any services. We rang the telephone number for the hotel half a dozen times but no answer at all. I walked back to reception and found the same person sitting at the desk and asked for an iron and board. 20 minutes later, repeated that procedure. Eventually arrived and the same staff person said they had been very busy on their desk. Why do you have to say what time you want breakfast the night before? How do you know what time you will want to rise. You are on holiday. ‘The staff need to know how many tables to set’. !! Dinner was a very pleasant meal. The food was excellent quality but again the service staff not particularly attentive to customer needs. Breakfast was very poor. There was a continental ‘buffet’. The fruit option was a bunch of grapes in a bowl and slices of watermelon. I asked about fresh fruit, berries etc and was told there was fruit compote. (This is like stewed fruit with sugar added) not fresh raw fruit. There were no pastries, no fresh bread or rolls or croissants. We ordered coffee. It was good, but weak, and only a jug of semi skimmed milk to add to it. I asked for a little pouring cream which was brought. I also asked for some berries. I got four in a tiny bowl still with stems on!! I am sorry, but paying £310 per night the service is lacklustre. Certainly not attentive to what I expect in a ‘luxury’ hotel. All staff we encountered seemed to qualify their service deficiencies. Sorry I am very busy. Sorry almost all the tables are ordering all at once. Sorry we don’t put fresh fruit out on the buffet. Sorry we don’t have pastries. Sorry we only serve semi skimmed milk. People don’t usually ask for any else. People are concerned with fat content. My favourite was we can always ask the kitchen if they have any berries for you. It was July!! This place is full of potential but needs a lot more hands on management. Non was visible to us. This is not a rant, it is meant to be fair criticism from someone who expects to receive the services advertised. We also heard others at breakfast talking about only semi skimmed milk and lack of bread options. Buyer beware.
