Pod Times Square is perfect if you are solo, great location, room was basic but clean, cleaned every day, clean towels, hairdryer and tv. My view was of the Hudson River, what's not too like. Walking tours every day if you are interested. Bar facilities, including happy 2 hours and coffee, muffins etc available for breakfast. I really enjoyed my stay here and would come back. I stayed in a Queen room which slept two which was fine for me, just be aware if you are sharing as it is small but hey how long are you in your room in NYC.

We recently stayed at Homewood Suites in Midtown Manhattan, and it was a fantastic experience. The location is ideal—just a short walk to major attractions like Times Square and Central Park, making it easy to explore the city. The suite itself was spacious, well-equipped, and comfortable, with a full kitchen that was a nice touch for longer stays. The staff at the dining area were friendly and attentive but not so at the front desk. The complimentary breakfast was a great way to start the day. Overall, it provided a perfect blend of comfort and convenience for my trip to New York City. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a homey base in the heart of Manhattan.

### Marriott beats Hilton!
I can't believe that Marriott and Hilton are only 165 feet (about 0.03 miles) apart, but the experience is so different. Marriott provided free bottled water at check-in, while Hilton charged $8 per bottle. Hilton's elevators were all out of service due to the so-called ”flood”, while Marriott, which is only separated by a wall, was running normally and in an orderly manner. From the moment I stepped into the door, Marriott's smiling service made people feel warm. When the staff asked if I needed help with my luggage, I hesitated for a moment - because my luggage had been delayed in Hilton due to elevator failure. Last time I attended a meeting, I had a tight schedule and had to choose Hilton with a great location. As a result, I spent 17 minutes waiting for the elevator! For business travelers, don't choose Hilton. Whether in Hunan, China or Manhattan, New York, my stay experience was extremely disappointing. The room soundproofing was very poor, and it was almost impossible to sleep! To be honest, if Marriott can completely crush Hilton in such a first-tier city and developed country, it already says it all. Not to mention the refund issue - Hilton's three-night room rate is as high as five figures, and I booked a room with a balcony. As a result, because of their so-called ”flood”, I still haven't refunded it! If I hadn't walked into Marriott with my luggage today, I couldn't believe what I experienced at Hilton.
### Marriott Completely Wins Over Hilton!
I can't believe the stark contrast between Marriott and the Hilton just 165 feet (0.03 miles) away. At check-in, Marriott provided complimentary bottled water, while Hilton charged $8 USD per bottle. The elevators at Hilton were out of service due to alleged ”flooding,” yet somehow, despite being just one wall apart, everything at Marriott was running perfectly. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles. When asked if I needed assistance with my luggage, I hesitated for a moment—because at Hilton, my luggage was stuck downstairs for ages due to the elevator delays. Last time I stayed at Hilton for a conference, I had an urgent schedule, yet I waited 17 minutes just for an elevator. Especially for business travelers, never choose Hilton. My experience has been consistently disappointing—whether in Hunan, China, or Manhattan, New York. The soundproofing is terrible! Honestly, if a Marriott can outshine Hilton in a first-tier city of a first-world country, that speaks volumes. And let's talk about refunds—three nights at Hilton cost me five figures, and I booked a room with a balcony. Yet, due to their so-called ”flooding,” I still haven't received my refund. If I hadn't personally walked into Marriott today, I wouldn't have believed the difference between these two hotels.

Location is great. Close to Times Square and subway.
The water with lemon and peppermint in the lobby is so refreshing. I love it!
Breakfast is included which is good but the dining area is always full of people. 4 out of 5 our days there ook us some time to get a table.
The biggest problem is about 3 elevators serving a 40-storey building which you have to prepare to wait and wait and wait.

I’m glad I found Pod 39 because it’s so near the Grand Central Station with an affordable price, though the room not big but just the right small size like me. The cleaner done their job well and and the rooftop bar is pretty and great skyline view especially at night. The staffs were friendly and helpful too. And best thing is they provide free walking tour at all Pod branch every twice per week and free coffee each morning. There’s eateries and shops nearby too. 😊

The location of the Holiday Inn is excellent. It's situated between Sixth and Seventh Avenue, making it easy to walk to the subway station and Times Square. The hotel rooms are not large but they are clean and tidy, and they come with a safe and a hairdryer. Breakfast is free and includes fruits and juices, as well as bagels, cupcakes, and nut bars. If you're in a hurry, you can also take it to go.
The most unforgettable person for me was Ms. Nadine. She helped me get back the passports for me and my family. I forgot to take the passports out of the safe when I checked out, and I only remembered when I was about to leave New York after spending the whole day out. I rushed back to the hotel and, in my panic, I told her the wrong room number. Ms. Nadine was very patient and compassionate; she let me go up with her to check. At that moment I found out I had given her the wrong room number. I am truly very grateful to her. I will stay in the Holiday Inn again.

A hotel with a higher CP value in New York, but although the room is small, it is basically enough for one person.
The minor drawbacks are that the air conditioner is quite noisy and the toilet is often used by others and there is water everywhere.

GGuest UserThe hotel is in the process of renovations so the lobby, elevators and areas of the hotel were a mess but we stayed in a room that had already been renovated and it was really nice! Clean, comfortable and new. My only complaint was that I booked this hotel because they offered shuttle service to the airport and said they drop off right at your terminal. When it came time to use the shuttle the driver said he was “too busy” to drop off at the terminal and he would be dropping off at the Air Train. We ended up calling an Uber.

GGuest UserHotel experience: In terms of hotel experience, users are generally satisfied with the cleanliness, comfort and novelty of the hotel facilities. For example, one user mentioned that the hotel facilities are new, the service staff has a good attitude, and the price-performance ratio is high4. Another user described in detail the decoration style of the hotel lobby and rooms, which is a bit old, but the service details and facilities are well maintained5.

YyidamMaybe it's to cut costs, the service is very simple. There was only one towel in the bathroom when I checked in. The front desk was nice and sent someone to deliver it immediately. But no one cleaned the next day, which saved me the $5 tip. Breakfast is mainly scrambled eggs, bacon rolls and small cakes, and the drinks are more diverse. You have to bring your own toiletries and slippers. The location is super good, with Madison Square and Penn Station just outside. The transportation is extremely convenient. It only takes 40 minutes to get to Kennedy Airport by Changchun Railway Station and Changchun Railway Station. It is also very convenient to take the train to Newark Airport in New Jersey. The room is not big, but it is very cost-effective for a single person to stay for a short period of time, and the deposit can be refunded quickly. Also, please note that not all rooms provide free wifi.
CChengzixingzouThe room that costs 300 yuan in China is only 2700 yuan in Manhattan, New York. Don't think it's expensive. It's fully booked. The exterior wall is being renovated. You can't even see the sign. The lobby is very small. The receptionists are expressionless and calm, unlike the enthusiastic ones in China. The breakfast room is also on the first floor. It's very cramped when there are many people. The food is just ordinary American food, mainly high in sugar, oil and calories. The room is very small, the bathroom is small, the washbasin is small, everything is small, it's difficult for two people to open the suitcase, but the hygiene is good. Because it is located in Midtown, it is convenient to walk from the city to the upper city, and it takes 10 minutes to walk to the Intrepid Aircraft Carrier Museum. It takes 46 dollars to take a taxi to the Stanten Island Ferry Terminal in the lower city to see the Statue of Liberty. There are no restaurants around. It takes 15 minutes to walk to some small shops. It's just like that in the United States. One more thing to add: It costs nearly 100 dollars to take a taxi from JFKT8 to the hotel, and Ctrip pick-up is less than 500, and there is a free one-hour waiting time (including the landing of the plane). If everything goes well, it's almost enough time to go through customs.
GGuest UserTL DR: only get this place if you only care about location, have reasonable independence, want privacy, and DO NOT NEED HOTEL AMENITIES.
Full review:
The main reason to book this hotel would be for its location. Its location in Tribeca is awesome. A number of destinations, particularly, wall street, the Brooklyn bridge, and the world trade center memorial, are walking distance. The rooms, however, are on the smaller end, and the hotel service is almost non existent. The facilities and amenities were acceptable.
Do note that the front desk is only in available from 9am to 11pm so if you encounter issues outside those times, it will be problematic.
For example, I was emailed the door key and room key a day prior to arriving. I printed the same in cause i had no internet service, as i was travelling from another country. I also emailed them through the email provided that we would be arriving at around 12 midnight. However, upon arriving at the hotel door, it would not work. I and my wife had to stay out, in the cold of new york city, with 5 luggages, for a good 30 minutes. We emailed them and used the online chat function, but both were useless.
We sat down in a nearby dunkin donuts to figure stuff out. and without any held from sonder or marriot, we found out that there was a discrepancy with the codes emailed and the codes in the app. Fortunately, my wife as able to rummage through the discrepancy and was able to acquire the appropriate codes. And thus, we finally able to get into the hotel and into our room.
Considering the price point of the rooms, aside from the location, this is not a good choice.
LLynsey_1The hotel is in a good environment, off the Wall Street, there is a subway station on the side. American hotels basically do not have a hot water bottle. Many people recommend multi-day travel with an electric kettle to boil water (of course, the conversion plug is necessary). The hotel does not have toothbrushes and slippers and needs to bring your own. Other hangers are available, the hotel is equipped with an iron, ironing is convenient

GGuest UserWe recently stayed for 4 nights in a room with 2 queen beds (3 adults). Beds were very comfortable, room was small with just one tiny narrow wardrobe which didn’t even fit our 3 winter coats so be prepared to live out of the suitcase. Bathroom has a large shower , toilet and tiny sink which is sufficient. Room has a modern look. There is also a fridge which is very handy . The coffee/ tea maker (kettle) is useless (bag coffee is horrible) but you can help yourself to coffee and tea all day downstairs in the restaurant area. Breakfast had loads to choose from but restaurant is tiny for the amount of people so it’s a struggle to get seated at times. You can take your breakfast into your room though . Hot chocolate with cream and all sort of toppings is on offer in the the evening, a great treat after long cold day . You can order food into the hotel in the evening is you do t fancy eating burgers and fries every day 😄 Hotel is lovely and clean but located in a very rough area so walking to the station is an eye opener. Staff are very nice and helpful. It’s a short walk to underground station with easy access to Manhattan etc.. the hotel is a good value for money . Uber to JFK is only around 55 dollars and it’s worth taking as travel by underground is long and for 3 people the cost works out almost the same .
