2-Star Hotels in Phuket

My initial thought on this accommodation business is in some ways positive. If it is viewed purely as a 'hostel' with an associated coffee shop, then it definitely has attributes (and I'll come back to those later). But if taken at face value on the basis of its tariff cost and amenities, both real and indicated, then there are several problems with it. The first is the way the premises is represented on the Trip com platform. Photographs of the double bedroom include one of a bathroom. The attached text description and its context makes the plain implication that the room has an ensuite bathroom, which it does not. If little scrutiny is applied when reading the description, this fact will escape the readers attention. Anyone looking to make a reservation quickly can easily be misled (inadvertently?) into believing that this is a 'hotel' style room. Many hostels do offer rooms with ensuite bathrooms after all. The bathroom is communal and is inconveniently located on the ground floor. Rooms are above this. A second related criticism is the room size description - 18 m sq is quoted. The room has dimensions of 3 x 3.5 m. That is, about 10 m sq ! Although late February is still peak season in Phuket, it has to be said that the room tariff of almost $60 AUD per night is exorbitant. It may be considered acceptable for a 18 m sq hotel style room, given the circumstances, but a room of this kind at this particular locality ought to be offered at a lower price. Having said this, I concede that the reservation was made late and in haste. Now onto the good things. The 10 m sq double bed room has old but high quality wooden furniture which serves its purpose well. The air conditioning is responsive and strong There is a large kitchen next to the bathroom/wash basin (trough). It's equipped with a large fridge, sink, cutlery etc as well as a coffee maker ( + ground coffee). A delicious banana cake was offered to guests. Clothes can be washed and dried via a coin operated machine. Other attributes include the woman owner/ manager who has a professional approach and an attitude very well suited to the hospitalality jndustry. The coffee shop also makes decent coffees and ham n cheese croissants.

Quiet, tidy, and clean. Each of the four floors has a common area. Showers are convenient, and there's a place to hang laundry on the fourth floor. The price is very reasonable, just a few tens of yuan, and it even includes a freshly prepared breakfast. The location is great, right next to the Big Golden Dragon in Phuket Town. This is a hostel that really impressed me. I'll definitely come back here.

Highly impressed with my stay at The Dorm Hostel as a solo traveler. This hostel meets every need! Content: It praises the cleanliness, superb location (convenient for attractions/transport), the friendly and helpful staff (excellent service), and the great amenities (comfortable beds, large lockers, nice common areas). Conclusion: Highly recommend it for solo travelers looking for great value, cleanliness, and a good atmosphere. Will definitely come back!

The rooms were good and clean, and the service was excellent. The hotel's central location made it very convenient for getting around. My only suggestion for improvement would be to upgrade the televisions, as they sometimes lost signal and it would be much better to have digital TVs.

It’s right next to the morning market and walking distance to the old town. Room is clean. And no elevator!!! And I stayed at 5th floor No 24 hrs reception. Remember to take your deposit if you planned to leave early in the morning. Take the deposit at night before your departure.

Staff look a bit shy and quiet. Booked a Family Room with 3 beds and got room 6 on 2nd floor next to the stairs. Direct beach and restaurant are at the back of the resort. At night they and resorts nearby have dinner tables so the beach is lit and lively. Early in the morning they don’t set up yet so it’s very good to walk, run and exercise there. They’re having a renovation. Room 6 had very strong paint smell. Water faucets are usable so they don’t change yet. Hose spray for toilet is on the right and you will twist your body to hang it on the left. Coffee making table, clothes cabinet and safe box are inside the bathroom with walls to separate. Drain hole is near the wall of the toilet so when we shower, the toilet room is wet too. Wall mount shower gel and shampoo. Bring your tooth brush set as most places in Thailand don’t give. Water drains slow a bit but not clogged. Other rooms on ground floor are being renovated also. It’s a small resort in the shape of a town house and they have a small lane to walk to the beach. Next to that lane are 3 or 4 guest rooms on ground floor. If you need the best room, it’s on 2nd floor at the end and you have 2 large beds, a separate large room with microwave, table with 4 chairs at the balcony overlooking the beach. Other guests can walk to this balcony too. View is the sea and the roof of the beach front restaurant. Room 6 has a table & 2 chairs outside the room so when you smoke and eat, expect to see other guests walking pass. Tops convenience store is on the other side of the street. Many shops, restaurants and food stalls on this street. The resort is at the end of this small beach town & next to the National Park. Walking about 30 minutes towards the park direction, we saw a tiny coral islet and we crossed the coral underwater way from main beach to that islet. Wear aqua shoes as it’s impossible to walk with bare feet. Water level is around waist line. The main beach has a strip of sand running towards that tiny islet and the other side has high sand. Very beautiful sunset. If you want to do that, go before 4pm because when it’s dark (after 6pm, mid October), there is almost no light in that zone and water starts to raise higher which means it’s more difficult to walk back from the tiny islet. The walk is short with strong waves. Water is warm.

staff was really friendly, even let me have the whole room to myself as i preferred a bottom bunk. had 2 lockable cabinet/drawer for your valuables. bed was sufficiently comfortable, aircon worked well and they had a specific lady zone so felt safe. location was alright. they had a communal area with a smart tv but didn’t seem like people were hanging out there so might be because i went during low season. the only complains i had was the toilet was a bit small, and fortunately it was not crowded at the hostel as it only had 2 cubicles (one of the toilets was not working as well). the shower was a bit small but still ok, quite clean as well. the blanket was actually a big towel, which was quite funny but it works and the curtain is a bit translucent esp when you turn the bunk light on (it’s ok if the lights are off, it still provides a level of privacy). not too bad, and for the price it’s pretty good!

We actually stayed here for five consecutive days! It was a very pleasant stay, and I really wanted to write more! The room was spacious and comfortable, and the hygiene was excellent. The owner is Chinese and has been consistently upgrading the linens. The service was attentive; one night, our Indian neighbors were on a loud call at 2:30 AM, and the owner, contacted via WeChat, promptly resolved the issue! The guesthouse environment is very comfortable, with squirrels, cats 🐱, and other small animals! The sea is right outside the door, as is a local night market! The food stalls at the entrance are also affordable and delicious 😋! I loved it! And for only two to three hundred during peak season, the price is unbeatable!!

the location is ideal for patong budget backpackers, but the room is crowded and smelly, and with a lot of noise. the self check in system is nice as your name will be displayed on the tv outside displaying your assigned bed. they do give free towel and small luggage storage with a lock enough to keep a backpack for valuables like laptop or wallet

I wanted to put 5 stars, but at the beginning I had a few pips and the third night I see that it cracks me everywhere, more than a hundred pips of bed chips on the whole body. I sent the photos at 2 a.m. to the direction and night without sleep and water to wash. However, the hotel is clean. But ”in my case” now impossible to go to the beach or massages.
