Phaedra Hotel

Hotel Phaedra in Kato Stalos, Crete is a true gem. The hotel is way better than most in the area. You will not regret staying here. The rooms are really nice and clean with free a/c and the pool area by the beach is absolutely amazing. Free sunbeds and free beach towels is something you don’t get in all other hotels. The owner Nicos is the friendliest an nicest guy you will find and he will make sure everything is perfect. Lady Georgia at the bar is the soul of the hotel and she makes delicious meals for breakfast and lunch. Always nice to talk to both Nikos and Georgia. I have now stayed in Phaedra four times and coming back again next year. Definately 10/10 ⭐️

The epitome of Greek hospitality This place is SPECIAL!!! First class service in a very relaxed casual atmosphere. The epitome of Greece's famed hospitality. Nikos the owner and Georgia the barista/cook made us feel as if we were long post beloved relatives or old friends. It's not possible to capture what we loved about this place in photos or even words... It was the feeling we had from the moment we arrived to the moment we love. I've never had a better hotel/hospitality experience in my life ...and I'm a seasoned traveler, with experiences in some of the best hotels all around the globe.

Small quiet family run hotel on the edge of the sand. Staff are all 7 star friendly happy and couldn’t be more helpful. Great bar by the pool for snacks and drinks. Pool and gardens well attended to. Rooms serviced everyday. Our room with a balcony was perfect - clean and bright with a small kitchen area great for making a morning cuppa or light snack with a full size fridge. Good shower. Comfy beds. A choice of sun beds by the pool or on the beach. This is a quiet hotel, the snack bar closed by 18.00 , no evening entertainment but that’s just what we wanted . Easy walk to lots of good restaurants in town . Nicos can arrange anything! Good recommendations organise taxis and always around for a chat and to get feedback. Georgia is a star.

I booked this hotel on the strength of its reviews and I am so pleased that I did. The Phaedra could give many 5* hotels a lesson in customer service, they really do go out of their way to deliver. We had 2 studios on the ground floor overlooking the pool. The studios and all of the communal areas were spotless, beds changed every other day, ditto towels. The accommodation was really well kept and maintained. More than 50% of the people we met there were returners, we are already talking about which week we will be back next year. The pool is glorious, no chlorine and never busy. There is a box of inflatables for the kids to use which is a great idea. From the pool you walk directly onto a sandy, clean beach with free sunbeds and shades and there are beds and shades round the pool if you don't want to sit on the beach. Georgiana who runs the pool cafe/bar looked after us well, you can have breakfast/lunch and snacks, any drinks and lovely iced coffee here at a reasonable price. There are supermarkets and tavernas nearby so you really don't have to venture far if you don't want to. A special mention to Nikos. All of the restaurant recommendations were spot on, our favorite was Kosmas. Thank you Nikos and Georgiana for a fabulous holiday, we will see you next year.

My wife and I stayed here for the first week of our Cretan holiday and had a great time. Our Deluxe sea view room had a comfortable double bed and a well equipped tea kitchen and living/dining area just up a couple of steps from the bedroom area. Also a large balcony with a view directly over the pool and sea. There is a large pool with a childrens area and you have direct access to the hotels free sunbeds on the sandy beach. The pool bar is open from about 8am to 7pm and serves a large range of hot and cold snacks and drinks. Otherwise, there are no formal facilities like a restaurant, but we didn't miss that at all because there are plenty of supermarkets and restaurants within walking distance, so we just stocked up with fruit and yoghurt and enjoyed our own breakfast on our balcony. The immediate area is not particularly exciting and consists of all types of restaurants, hotels and mini markets along the road leading to Agia Marina, which is about a 30 minute walk away. However, there is a regular bus service which takes you into the heart of Chania (or to Agia Marina and Platanias in the other direction) and costs less than 2 euros. There are also plenty of taxis around and you can also try the little white train which can take you on various tours along the coast or up into the mountain villages, just ask Nikos at reception. All in all, a very nice clean and well run hotel right on the beach. Ideal for a relaxing holiday.
