Filia Hotel Apartments

I visited Crete twice last year and stayed in Filia (twice as well). It is a great place run by very lovely family. Rooms are nice, clean. Food is great. The owners are very nice,friendly and caring people. It's safe, close to the beach, shops, restaurants. Perfect location. Definitely come back one day again. llona

We stayed as part of a JET2 package. Room 103 on half board. 2 nights sleep severly ruined by our balcony literally being next to the bar. Endless music & loud conversations until 2am. Two mornings we were woken early by a “guest” returning at 5am shouting the odds and banging on doors. The hotel is super clean and the staff all v.nice but if you want to sleep at normal times do not have room 103 or 104. The breakfast was acceptable but no variety. The evening meals were ok but we chose to dine out on 2 occasions because we simply couldn’t face the same grilled meat again. The hotel felt like a popular club40to60 year old venue with repeat customers. Not our cup of tea. Stalis is probably super lively in high season. Beach very crowded in parts but swimming ok. Our first visit to Crete the weather was great and we will try again.

The hotel is spread over two blocks. The main area with reception, bar, restaurant and pool is beautiful. Everything is within easy walking distance even if you're not as able bodied as some. The second block is a bit isolated, especially if you have walking difficulties. Even so, it does have its own pool and bar. The restaurant is exceptional, and the food is excellent. There is a pool side snack bar, and the food is equally as good. The sunbeds are the most comfortable we have ever seen. Also, an important feature is the steps and hand rail in the pool, especially if you are disabled. The hotel is family run, and you are made to feel welcome straight away with a friendly greeting and a free drink at the bar. The pool bar is the hub in the evening with Billy the barman, the centre of things. Many of the guests return, and I can see why. Our only concern would be that the rooms in the second block need some renovation, so we would be happier to stay in the main block nearer to everything if we went again.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay in Stalis. Staff are very friendly and always ready to please. Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short as I fell ill with an ongoing problem and just wanted to get home we were gutted this was our second time here and it’s our happy place . Will be going back as soon as we can .
