Hotels Near Westin Rock Beach in St Julian＇s

Starting with the information - we stayed at So City as a young couple (who arent particularly into nightclubs/bars) to see Matla for the first time over a week. I have given this a 'benefit-of-the-doubt' rating due to the hotel being incredibly new. We picked So City Hotel because of the value, it was incredibly well priced. I'd imagine this is a strategy due to it being so new but it was certainly well worth the price we paid. On to the hotel as a whole - I feel this is definitely aimed toward capturing people coming to Malta for some night life. Its positioned so that no more than 10 seconds from leaving the lobby, you can be in a bar, and their are some nice bars surrounding. That said, we werent there for that - but this location also meant that finding an evening meal, or a quick early night drink was incredibly easy. Exploring the island was also very easy from here, Valletta was a very short journey, and as we had opted to rent a car, there was a carpark about 5 minutes walk away (Pengardens) which is reasonably priced for over night parking, and we never struggled for a space. The room was very comfortable, and the mattress was perfect and bedding very soft and comfortable. Our upgraded room was also incredibly spacious. The theming is a nice touch and makes the room a bit more characterful and individual. Staying on the 7th floor, there was minimal noise at night, altough id be concerned if we needed to keep the window open.... The black out curtains were also amazing for keep the room dark for a little bit of extra sleep. Constructive criticism for the room would be: The shower tempurture is difficult - the hottest setting is insanely hot (my other half loves hot showers but this was too much for her also) and it wouldnt go cold, just cooler, it also seemed to get colder through out the shower and you found yourself adjusting. There is not a lot of storage at all for longer stays. This is perhaps a by product of it feeling aimed towards 'nightlifers' who might stop 3 nights or so. I would perhaps ask reception for additional hangers if you have plenty of clothes for a longer stay. The mini fridge, altough useful, is not big enough to put larger water bottles in, which can be annoying. The aircon unit is situated in a place which means it blows directly at the bed. I tried to play with the control but there was no way to adjust it that I could find. Im trying to cool the room, not refridgerate myself. The timer on the aircon also didnt seem to work, so setting it the blow for 30 mins whilst i went to sleep just didnt seem to work. The TV is not a full smartTV which is a shame. Just channels and an internet browser, which are never nice to navigate around.... On to other notes: Breakfast is just what you need. Its not an all out buffett where there is everything you could dream of, but there is more than enough and a few items cycle so you can expect a slightly different breakfast each morning. The bistro is very nice and elegant. The good attention at all times from the staff stands out, they are very cordial, helpful and always serve you with a smile on their face. Also in terms of food and drinks compared to other accommodations I visited in the same area, I notice that the level is higher, abundant and well served.

I changed my accommodation imminently and was worried because there weren't many reviews, but all the reviews were good, so I made a reservation. The room was remodeled, so it was very clean, the interior was nice, and the location was good 🚌 It was easy to ride, there were a variety of foods nearby, and it was good to see the supermarket and nearby attractions. :) Check-in was also better. Please do it early :) However, the bathroom exhaust fan is a little noisy, but it's really good for the price. I think it's because it's the off-season :)

Excellent property with great location, extremely clean and comfortable, super friendly staff. Teo was extraordinary! He was a true example of excellent hospitality. He made our trip more exciting in Malta by guiding and giving us tips about the city and the attractions to cover in 72 hours. He made sure that everything was arranged for us accordingly. I couldn't thank him enough for the excellent level of service he had rendered. We will surely visit H Hotel on our next holiday and expect that will recommend your hotel to our family and friends.

The hotel has a perfect location. I will come back ,I loved it. However improvements are needed: Breakfast:Fruit juices are terribly diluted to make things worse served on 10Cl glasses. Better pastries would be welcome. Room needed repairs broken floortiles. Elevators have seen better days. A 4 E coke at the pool is rather extensive. But still I loved the hotel.

Okay overall,the details below are a quick reflection of a somewhat disappointing stay. The pros; Bright new hotel close to amenities, shops etc just around the corner. Comfortable bed and pillows. Friendly and efficient front desk staff. Water and ice machine on each floor. Good wi fi. The cons; The room was cramped with insufficient storage,we lived out of a suitcase for 5 days! Insufficient hanging and t& coffee, fridge right next to clothes. Not enough space for 2 people to access their clothes. One bedside table for 2 people where the USB charger is and insufficient sockets to charge phones, camera etc. No wall hooks to hang bags/ jackets,no place for shoes. Sound proofing wasn't sufficient,we had noisy neighbours who disturbed us for 3 Disappointing in a new hotel. Housekeeping left the balcony door unlocked every time we returned each day, leaving the room a security risk. Housekeeping moved and rearranged our personal toiletries mixing our toothbrush and razors. Housekeeping knocked off our tablet we had left charging and broke the usb charger lead,our tablet was also found with a small crack,this happened on the last day they entered and we didn't notice until after we checked out. Housekeeping switched off our fridge one day,and after a long day out on return we had warm beers! Room was hot,the AC is controlled centrally and switched off in the day,its not available until late. Housekeeping didn't close the curtains to help keep the room cool. Breakfast is the usual fare and they didn't offer anything outstanding. Whilst they attempted a 'special' each day it really wasn't special,eg croissant with spinach and cheese,and porridge! Specials should be Maltese and include the ingredients to inform in case of allergies, food wasn't labelled and even juices weren't always labelled we had to ask. The toaster wasn't always switched on,and staff were very slow to clear plates. It was under staffed at breakfast and by 8am looked dessimated with many messy tables not cleaned or cleared. Whilst we enjoyed Malta there are many hotels to choose from which are better priced,this hotel has so much training to undertake with their staff to improve standards it will take time. Our room didn't look anything like in the photos on this site. We used this as a base because its not the usual 4star Marriott,and didn't spend alot of time in the hotel.

Inhawi is chock-full of digital nomads and students; what this means is that there are a LOT of people staying here long-term, which in turn means that it has a kind of small community / uni atmosphere. The hostel itself is in a brilliant location; the building is beautiful, with big open spaces. It's also super clean and has a really nice kitchen with three (very full!) refrigerators where guests can store food. I would *very* highly recommend getting a room upstairs, as the kitchen / common area gets quite boisterous at night, with people staying up and drinking until the wee hours of the morning. Due to the acoustics, rooms which are right off of the common area are inundated with the laughter and talking of late-night partiers. With a friendly staff, great complimentary breakfast, and clean rooms (and smart layout), I'd stay here again... I would just choose a room which would allow for better sleep.

Returned 2 weeks ago after a wonderful week saying at The Palace Hotel. It took a long time to decide where to stay in Malta given the enormous choice and yet very mixed reviews, however I was really pleased we settled on The Palace. I did 1 less star for 'value', but this wasn't just in relation to The Palace as I thought generally hotel's in Malta were definitely on the pricier side. The room was lovely with the biggest bed I’ve ever seen and we had some lovely touches such as a daily visit from hospitality asking if we needed anything, and a bottle of filtered water changed daily. An excellent idea and far better than the frequent plastic bottles and subsequent waste. We also arrived on my husband’s birthday and quite unexpectedly in the evening, a lovely birthday cake was delivered to our room! From our initial greeting at reception with a lovely local drink and onwards, we had a brilliant service from every single member of staff. They were all very helpful and yet not intrusive. In particular lovely Puja in the wonderful TemptAsian’ restaurant, and Dhilip who served us both by the pool and at the ground floor Talk of the Town restaurant. Both were extremely knowledgeable and gave sound advice regarding choice of meals and suitable local wines. As we like to try local restaurants when we go away, we chose the bed and breakfast option however we were so impressed with the lovely rooftop TemptAsian restaurant we ate there twice. We then went for the buffet in the Talk of the Town restaurant on our last night, where we again had an excellent service from Dhilip, and where the food was well presented and excellent value for money. Sliema is a busy place with lots of hotels, and as other reviewers have stated, The Palace was within the centre of the peninsula, so although it wasn’t in the most picturesque road, given its proximity to all public transport, the ferry and bus stops including the ‘hop on/off’, we felt there was no necessity to hire a car. We did the short ferry over to Valletta many times and a bonus for us was a considerable ‘over 60’ concession. We managed to cram a lot in during our week in Malta from the numerous museums, tombs, caves and other historical places, in addition to exploration of the island on both the north and south hop on/off buses and brief trip to Gozo. I’m not sure we could not have done quite so much had we not been in such an ideal location. The other bonus was on the days we were back in time, having a swim in the gorgeous rooftop pool, and the Happy hour cocktails between 3 and 5 pm. Highly recommend this as a wonderful place to stay in Malta.

Perfect stay. Beautiful room, very spacious and had everything we needed. Was more like an apartment with fitted kitchen, small living area etc. was lovely to return to after a busy day, smart tvs so access to Netflix prime Disney etc. rooftop pool was stunning and although small, we always got a sun lounger and parasol. Very relaxing and stylish. We had family in the area so we had access to a car so cannot comment on the immediate area much. Short taxi ride to sliema or Valletta. Use bolt taxi app as cheaper than Uber (about €7) reception staff were lovely and really wanted to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. Very secure hotel. Small cafe in road facing hotel had best English breakfast and very friendly service would 100% recommend a visit. There is a bus stop round side of hotel and I believe Bugiba and mellieha bay are reachable from here, or bolt taxi €28 to ferry for blue lagoon comino island. All in all fantastic place at a brilliant price 😊
