Whitetail Lodge

It was a beautiful place to stay. Awesome room and beautiful pool and hot tub. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 was because the staff was not very warm. Maybe they were short staffed but when we checked in she seemed a little put out by any questions. The staff in the morning was very helpful. Breakfast was sufficient but not great. No serving utensils for the little warm doughnut things?

Clean, great location, manager was friendly and wonderful. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub and close by to good food and golf which we will do this coming September. I had not been in Woodruff in over 30 years. Used to stay at my brother’s cabin off of E. He had passed but is buried in Woodruf because he loved it so much. We found White tail and stayed and will come back.

My family loved it here. It has that woodsy decor, with rooms that aren’t the same-old design. It had a nice long counter, mini fridge, microwave, table and four comfy chairs with a dice and cup for games. Sound travels through the doors but not through the walls, so I only heard other guests in their rooms when I was walking down the hallway. Bathroom was also very nice and had a jet bathtub. The “patio” outside the room was really just a wide paved area that’s continuous outside the rooms, which would be enjoyable with furniture, but the big forested deck by the pool more than made up for it. The pool area was fun and looked nice too. Continental breakfast had nice options, including a couple warm selections (cinnamon donut holes and breakfast sandwich when we went). Overall, went way beyond our expectations!! Thanks again for a great home base for my family’s mini vacation!

We were going to come here for our 10 Year Anniversary. I booked a room and the girl informed me I didn't need a credit card or a deposit. Usually hotels ask for a card on file which I thought was odd. We were excited to visit this hotel. 2 days after making the reservation I got a call from the Manager stating they wanted a deposit. I had no problem putting a deposit down, however she was rude and not very polite. I believe her name was Kate. She also demanded the AARP discount ID number over the phone when it states online in person is fine. After all the errors and misinformation in addition to being treated with disrespect we canceled. Try the Best Western in Eagle River. Its a bit nicer and the staff are friendly.

This lodge is between Minocqua and closer to St Germain. Scenic and somewhat hilly paved bike trails are by the lodge. All the rooms have a patio door which makes it handy if you want to keep your bikes by your room. The beds are comfortable. There is an indoor pool and hot tub with plenty of deck space. The one area of improvement is the minimal breakfast selection with packaged pastries and eggs, not-very-good-yogurt and a cereal dispenser. The toaster for bagels needs replacing. We have been there the week before Memorial Day for three years without a problem getting a room but they are generally booked after that. There are three restaurants in close proximity.
